East Gate 8-9 — Hotel in Batticaloa Island

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a very pleasant experience. The place is peaceful, quiet, and feels safe — there’s CCTV around the property as well. We had accidentally left our charger in the room, and the owner brought it back to us just as we were about to get on the bus, which was really appreciated.

PickMe and Uber taxis/cabs were available, but PickMe Food and Uber Eats weren’t available in Batticaloa. However, there were a few shops open even around 10 p.m., so it wasn’t a problem. Overall, excellent hospitality and great value for money. Definitely...

We always try to find a small nice property instead of big international chains in every trip we do and after staying in many hotels of this kind we are 100% sure that EAST GATE was our best ever choice.

The location is situated in the TOWN and still very quiet. Rooms are spotlessly clean and large enough to feel yourself comfortable even for a long stay.

Horrible expirience, everything was nasty from the bed sheets stained with unknown liquids to the walls covered with spider webs to the little cockroach suprises behind curtains and in the toilet. An all around horrible expirience never stay here. Had to ask for soap and toilet paper and the droplets of water that managed to escape the shower head were lukewarm at best, the air itself smelt like dust and mold as if no one opened the window in...
