What a horrendous experience. We came to Galle, and having seen the fresh fish available in the market hours earlier (ten minutes down the road) and were horrified by what we were served. |The veg rice had little veg (but was edible). The devilled fish was dry and barely edible. |We waited another 20mins for the other two dishes for our party of four. |When it eventually came the grilled tuna steak was 1cm thick and fried. I sent it back, saying that I had ordered a grilled tuna. It came back exactly the same. The same for the grilled white fish. |There was a fly in the daal- and we asked for it to be changed. When we reminded them that they had not brought a fresh one, it eventually came back, and was unceremoniously dumped at the opposite end of the table. |There was no apology and I asked to speak to the manager. He just scooped up the fly and walked off. Eventually we complained, and the manager insisted that the grilled fish (see picture) was grilled and that it was perfectly cooked. Honestly, I could not even have swallowed a mouthful (if I could cut into it in the first place). The white fish was equally disgusting. In addition the fries were cold and burnt. |Eventually after a lot of rude and confrontational language from the manager (still no apology about food not arriving together, poor quality and fly in food) we decided to leave..... we paid for the rice and daal (much to their dismay)..... they had the nerve to add service charge to the bill! |Worst restaurant experience of my life. Poor food and downright rude and aggressive, offensive customer âserviceâ. I would not eat here if you paid me....

Water is heated by the sun, so temperature depends on the time of the day, but was never too cold to shower.|Breakfast was not a buffet as we expected, but we were asked to order from the menu (western with toast and eggs, American with pancakes, Sri Lankan with curry and an egg special with different types of egg) we chose an other menu every day. The last days we had breakfast outside in their garden at the seaside.|On day we had dinner here. We were triggered by the BBQ they have every night, but decided to order from the menu: great Kottu, curry and spaghetti (written consequently as spegatti ;-). The waiter is still on hos learning curve, but did all in his power to make our meal a feast.|Two nights they had musicians playing in the restaurant (bongo-like drums, guitar and violin) and they played great, even the song we always sing when we walk the junglepaths: "Country Roads", from John Denver!|The last (this) morning we were woken by purple faced langur monkeys fighting in the trees. This type of monkey we did not see before in our last 25 days...
Read moreThere is no option for 3.5 hence I'm giving a 4. This hotel is located in the prime area, very near to many attractions like the turtle hatchery, Galle fort, Galle old Town, Dutch market etc. And you have a partial sea view which is across the roads.|We stayed in this hotel for two nights, first I was driving through the road and saw this hotel, I dint make a booking. Approached the receptionist he showed me the room which I liked it but the very first thing I could notice was there were almost 6 to 7 men's boozing right in front of the door and I asked them why do u do such things when guests are on. He said there won't be any problem to the guests sir. From this I learnt that there was nobody in the rooms and only I had booked then. Then booked for two nights with breakfast for 10000 LKR. Initally I had hard feeling about the hotel. But later the next morning went down for breakfast, decent breakfast it was. Then spent the next two days. Good car parking. Overall a decent stay and most recommended for bachelor's. ||Pros|Average yet neat rooms|Bread and breakfast|Newly furnished rooms and toilet|Balcony with sea view|TV|AC|Refrigerator|Very friendly owner and reception staff|Cheap priced||Cons|We experienced a bad odour in the premises but not in the room|No proper housekeeping i.e they don't come for housekeeping untill u call them.|Buffet little unhygienic, and the food u take won't be warm.|No water...
