Our family spent 2 nights here towards the end of our trip to Sri Lanka and it was restorative heaven. A formal colonial style bungalow, nestled in the heart of a tea estate near Nuwara Eliya with beautiful gardens, where you can listen to the birds and simply unwind. Chef Kumar and his colleague prepared excellent western and Sri Lankan speciality meals, and one morning treated us to a demonstration of delicious 'egg hopper' baskets cooked in front of us on the lawn.
Viji, the Maître D, took wonderful care of us and even gave us a tour of the tea estate, explaining how their organic tea leaves are selected and harvested, followed by a tea tasting on the lawn. Blew our minds to learn that black tea, white tea and green tea all come from the very same plant!!
