Olive Bungalow — Hotel in Sri Lanka

Olive Bunglow is situated in a beautiful tea plantation in Welimada Sri Lanka. The Bunglow is surrounded by gorgeous views of the Ohiya mountain range and the tea fields. This bungalow is ideal for relaxing and family holidays. The rooms were beautifully furnished with Jetwing amenities. I loved the gardens which are so well maintained. Also the surrounding areas are ideal for early morning and evening walks along the Tea bushes with gorgeous views of the mountain range. In the compounds of the bungalow there are variety of birds flying around. The climate is moderate and one of the best Climates in Sri Lanka. |During our stay Chef Kumara was absolutely outstanding, he made some mouthwatering meals for us. His presentation and creativity is super amazing. The produce are organic home grown from the Bunglow garden. Being a foodie his Tosai and Pol rotti preparations are absolutely fantastic. The western meals too were incredibly good. Alongside Chef Kumara, Siva the head butler was the best. He works tirelessly to make your stay the best ever. He goes above and beyond to give you a 5 star + service at the Olive Bungalow. He is attentive, professional, willing and always there to make the guests have the best experience. They both work with such joy and enthusiasm with a passion to serve their guests. These people must be commended and promoted. We stayed at Jetwing Olive Bungalow in August 2025. We were 2 families with 4 adults and 4 children. The rooms are spacious, so are the common spaces. The garden is a bit smaller than expected. But the location in the mountains of Sri Lanka is great. We had a wonderful time at the Bungalow. The whole team was very friendly and went out of their way to assist us in any query we had. They made us feel at home from the very beginning. They organised for us a cooking class as well as a trek in the mountains and the villages, which we truly loved as well as a visit through the tea plantations of the property. We highly recommend the Jetwing Olive Bungalow for any friends and families who are looking for a more calm and unique experience in the mountains of Sri Lanka. They were also very helpful by helping us to get some medicine for some of us who got sick. We loved the dishes prepared and served by the whole team of the Olive Bungalow and the Warwick Garden House. We would like to thank all of them, including Sachith, Kumara, Namal and Tangesh, Wije, Thagagu and Shiwa. We loved every dish as well as the fresh juices they prepared for us. The bungalow itself, a beautifully refurbished villa, exudes a quiet elegance. My room was incredibly comfortable, feeling less like a hotel room and more like a cozy guest bedroom. The simple touches, like the fresh linens and the quiet hum of the countryside outside, really contributed to a sense of peace.

I particularly appreciated the blackout curtains for a truly restful night's sleep and the reliable in-room Wi-Fi, which was strong enough to stay connected.

One of the highlights for me was the absolute tranquility. Waking up to the sounds of nature, with the crisp morning air and the scent of tea leaves, was incredibly refreshing.

The staff were attentive and polite, always ready to assist without being intrusive. Daily housekeeping kept the bungalow pristine.

My family with 6 kids were warmly welcomed to both the Olive bungalow and the Hoffman bungalow. The kids had a great time playing in the beautiful garden of the Hoffman Bungalow and the caretaker Siva helped in every way possible.

Overall all the staff were very attentive and polite and served us really well. High Five to the Chef and the team all meals were excellent and personalised to meat everyones need.
