We have been staying in Sri Lankan hotels for the past 10 weeks, and our family voted this our least favourite to date. We are a big fan of the Jetwing in Colombo, having stayed there multiple times, but this Jetwing lags far behind. The condition is much dilapidated, everything is rusty, tired and many things are broken (key pad on the room, plug on the fan, furniture is damaged, stained and generally run down). Lots of surfaces are not cleaned adequately.

The restaurants are open air and lack air conditioning. If you're not used to the climate, you will melt if you visit when it's above 30c, as the best they offer here is fans that look like they were made in the 1970's.

Sri Lankan food is wonderful, but this was far below par compared to our dining experiences to date. The service was also the slowest we've had on the Island. Staff stand around in large groups talking to one another, and do not pay too much notice to guests. But, the staff are at least cheerful when you do get their attention.

There are plenty of sun loungers by the pool (which is massive and a sight to behold, makes for a great photo), but it features only two working parasols. Unfortunately you are harassed by small flying beetles and mosquitoes. I suppose this is the downside of being situated near a lagoon! Don't bother with the smaller pool, it's on a patch of scrubland with only four loungers. It's like time forgot this part of the grounds.

Watersports were not available when we asked, so there was very little to do during our 4 day stay here.

I'm sure this hotel was beautiful when it was first built, like in the pictures they use to advertise it. But be warned, it's 2022 at the time of writing this review, and the hotel is now in desperate need of some TLC to justify the prices they charge and to live up to the past ratings this hotel has received. In my opinion, it can no longer justify the score on here and other platforms. You will be disappointed if you expect a 4.5/5 experience and are paying the tourist price. Note, the locals pay far less and are perhaps propping up the score.

In all, a lackluster trip to Negombo, largely because we picked the wrong hotel. But this does not detract from how much we love Sri Lanka and the people here. I'd recommend you can find a better hotel for the price point. Until they invest in renovations, improve the food, and figure out how to keep the flies out of the buffet area, we will not return...

Loved the hotel, the staff, the treatments and the food so much that we extended from 4 to 7 days (half-board with treatments).||We are foodies, so let's start there. Chef Rohan, Sous Chef Dhanushka and their team provide a 5 star gourmet Sri Lankan food expeience. This is fine dining at it's best and allows you to expand your taste buds. Thank you very much for our impromptu cooking class in the beautiful gardens and secrets of the Sri Lankan spice culture. Nothing better than your Sri Lankan breakfast!!||The Prana Wellness Center offers personal care and guidance, with treatments revolving around your actual wellness/health. I came with acute knee pain & achilles tendon troubles. Dr Vishwanath consulted daily with me and offered Ayurveda treatments which I was first a bit sceptical about. Thankfully we gave it a chance! After 5 days of treatments I am almost pain free and walk well again. Trust the process 😉.||The team of female massage therapists Koshika and Minoli found my aches, knots and stress points and released them all. I had a massage daily, self care at it's best. Thank you. ||My husband was not a wellness fan. He is now! His male massage therapists Indika, Nuwan and Insan sent him into deep relaxation. Dr Vishwanath helped reduce his neck & shoulder pains by choosing appropriate Ayurveda treatments.||Jetwing Lagoon Wellness Hotel offers daily stress reduction sessions. I partipated in the free Yoga Nidra, Sound Healing & Mandala drawing sessions. The educational program for guests is wide ranging. I participated in the Food is Medicine Class with Dr Vishwanath and the Insights of a Yogi Lifestyle Class. Both were really interesting and offered valueable (& do-able) ideas to lead a more health conscience life.||We need to shout out to all of the dining room staff, especially Sudath,|Pacindu, Nilantha and Amila. You treated us like friends arranging a special dining expeience under the trees every evening. ||Our room (125) was sooooo spacious, the bed super comfortable and the bathroom bigger than some small European apartments. We loved not having a television! Ample water, teas and coffee were provided. Thank you to Hashan & Sachintha for...

Our stay at Jetwing was nothing short of amazing. Now a full-fledged wellness resort, it offers the perfect mix of relaxation and rejuvenation. The spa was a highlight, especially our conversation with the wonderful and knowledgeable doctor—such a wealth of insight! We’re already dreaming about coming back for a 7-10 day package. The Ayurvedic cuisine was outstanding—top-notch flavors, beautifully plated, and available à la carte when you want. The elegant seating made every meal feel special. Complimentary yoga with a fantastic female trainer was a great way to start the day, and the spacious gym was perfect for those who still had energy after swimming the incredible 110-meter lap pool. Our room was a dream—spacious (around 70 square meters), quiet, and beautifully minimalist, with a huge bathtub that felt like a private spa. The bed was perfect, with incredibly comfortable pillows, and the writing desk was ideal for moments of reflection. Housekeeping was impeccable—anything we needed, they handled with care, down to the complimentary glass-bottled water, which added to the resort’s strong sustainability efforts. The entire property was stunning. Lush, well-maintained grounds made for peaceful walks, and we loved spotting a few beautiful birds around the premises. There’s also a serene beachfront pool, though it was a bit too quiet for our vibe this time. Most guests seem to stay for just a night or two at the start or end of their trip, but we spent five nights here and loved every moment. It was, hands down, the most comfortable resort we stayed at—spacious, peaceful, and with the freedom to do our own thing. While the beaches further south might be more famous, the overall experience at Jetwing—the food, the space, the team—made it absolutely worth our extended stay. We’d do it again in a heartbeat!

We stayed for one night on a weekend. The food was delicious. Lunch did not have a lot of variations but tasty. The dinner ad breakfast really lived up to the expectations and was full of meat items and sea food items. Location is really good as one end of the hotel is bordering the lagoon while across the road you can access a beautiful beach (not suitable for bathing though). Exterior of the hotel was very good with a very long swimming pool of 100m (longest in SL if Im correct). It was maintained very well. They have another small infinity swimming pool in the beach as well (across the road from the hotel). Very calm and peaceful surroundings. Butterflies could be found in plenty in the garden. Plenty of parking available as well. The staff too were really helpful and supportive. Theres a gym you can use for free of charge. Restaurant charges are also fair. We stayed in a 'Bawa' category room. The room was very spacious and clean. However the bathroom was not that clean and up to the standards. They could have maintained it better and maybe give a colourwash. Not very dirty, but not crystal clean as well. They promised us a king sized bed but two beds were put together to make a king sized bed, so that was a little dissappointment. All in all it was a pretty good experience. Recommended 🤟

We had an amazing stay at Jetwing Lagoon with family! The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, offering a calm and peaceful retreat. The location by the lagoon provided stunning views, especially from the restaurant, which made dining a delightful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, featuring a wonderful selection of healthy Sri Lankan dishes. The presentation was impeccable, and we especially enjoyed the unique Sri Lankan cocktails. Breakfast was a lavish buffet, while dinner was a well-curated set menu, both offering great variety and flavors. The service was exceptional—staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. One of the highlights of our stay was the impressive 100-meter-long swimming pool, perfect for a refreshing swim. Additionally, access to the beach was convenient, just across the road, with another pool available at the beachfront. The villa-style rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and came with a unique outdoor bathroom that maintained complete privacy. It was a perfect blend of luxury and nature. Overall, Jetwing Lagoon is a fantastic getaway for those seeking relaxation, great food, and outstanding service. Highly recommend it for a memorable stay!
