Oak Ray Serene Garden Hotel — Hotel in Sri Lanka

My recent stay at Serene was a pleasant experience, thanks in large part to the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and well-cared for. They were always eager to assist with any requests and made sure I had everything I needed.

The hotel's facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the ambiance was relaxing and inviting. The room was comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. However, bedsheets can be more clean, while the food was generally good, I found the variety to be somewhat limited. I would recommend expanding the menu options to cater to a wider range of tastes and dietary preferences.

I’m not sure why I see many good reviews because my experience was totally different. I booked for 2 nights with family (2 children). The room was so old and unkept. The AC works when it wants to, the fan doesn’t rotate at the speed set. Few room lighting bulbs were missing! The bathroom was a mess. No soap holder in the shower cubicle and when I informed the maintenance, someone brought a cheap aluminium soap tray and hung it on a broken bracket in the cubicle. The moment I took the soap from it the tray fell on the floor. Total disaster. We checked out the very next morning. I’m not sure whether the hotel management is sleeping or whether other gussets got better rooms or they are okay with the low standards. I will never recommend this...
