Queens Mount Kandy — Hotel in Sri Lanka

My experience with Queen's Mount Hotel was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. I had booked a room in advance and made the necessary payment as requested. The hotel confirmed my booking both at the time of payment and again on the morning of my arrival when I called to double-check.

However, upon arrival at the hotel on June 15th, I was informed by the reception desk that there was no room available for me. Despite showing them my WhatsApp conversation with the hotel owner, confirming my booking, they were shocked and unable to help. I called the hotel owner, who then realized she had forgotten to book my room. Her solution was to send me to another hotel called Crystal Lake.

Crystal Lake turned out to be an abandoned hotel with rooms that had a terrible smell, clearly indicating they hadn't been used in a long time. The condition of the room was very uncomfortable and not up to any standard expected of a decent hotel. By the time I was redirected, it was already 3 PM, and finding another suitable hotel without a booking was nearly impossible, so I had no choice but to stay at the subpar Crystal Lake.

This entire experience was extremely distressing and ruined my trip. The lack of responsibility and professionalism shown by Queen's Mount Hotel is unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They are highly unreliable and do not value...

great location, big room with balcony and super nice hosts! We definitely recommend this place and would always come back! (We stayed for 2 days).

Rooms: big rooms and comfortable beds. There is also a balcony.

Location: 15 min walk away from the temple of tooth and 20 - 25 min walk to the main bus station(very close). There are good restaurants nearby and a supermarket (for buying water and other stuff)

Hosts: The staff is very kind, they helped us with everything ( for example : I forgot my charger in the hotel. When I call them and they curious for us where I am in.) They also organized an airport transfer. Bathroom: bathroom is so nice very clean it has hot water also

Bonus ;) : there is clothes shop in downstairs, you can buy a clothe from there.:) (if you hope to wear a white dress for the temple)

Tipp: We were at Kandy, in the Srilanka facing crisis situation = no fuels ⛽️, so there were many of tuk tuk driver in the city. If you hope to get tuk tuk tell to hotel guys they’ll arrange proper tuk...
