Samudra Beach Villa — Hotel in Sri Lanka

We spent 7 exceptional nights at Samudra Villa. Everything about our stay was flawless. From the moment we were greeted by the Villa team to the moment we left we experienced world class service. Nothing was too much for the team but they also maintained privacy and were not over attentive.

Before we arrived we felt apprehensive about having people cook and clean for us but the team made it feel like a home from home, checking that we had what we needed but providing space.

The Villa is designed by one if the most renowned architects in Sri Lanka and the style, comfort and elegance of the villa against the backdrop if the sand and sea was even more beautiful that the photos.

Food quality was excellent and after tasting Ruwan’s cooking (with help from Sunethra) you didn’t want to eat anywhere else. Udara and the night watchman, Pijma, made sure we felt safe and rooms and terrace clean and tidy.

What can I saw - one of the best holidays that we have ever had. From the moment that we arrived at the villa we were warmly greeted by Ruwan and Udara and made to feel immediately at home.

Our month at at Samudra House just went too quickly - our family made amazing memories and the pool was an absolute winner with the kids.

Many a beautiful sunset was enjoyed as well.

You won't want to eat anywhere else once you have eaten Ruwan's food - it was exceptional and we chose to come back more times than eat out because of his culinary skills.

The rooms and house were impeccable clean and the staff couldn't be more helpful and kind to the kids and to us adults. If you are looking for relaxation, easy holiday to total relax and unwind, fantastic food - this is the place to be. It truly went above and beyond all of our expectations, and we thank you all.

To try and put my stay into words is going to be difficult…Samudra Beach House…you have my heart. It is the most beautiful, serene, heaven-like beach based oasis, with the ocean as both your view and soundtrack. You open the gate to Samudra and walk through a stone-floored leafy corridor which only adds to feeling you’re entering a whole new world - a total paradise where the rest of the world is switched off in an instant. Its own entity completely, yet a short beach front walk away from a brilliant array of bars and restaurants. The food was exquisite and the staff so hospitable and helpful. My routine was egg-hoppers for breakfast, fresh coconuts or lime soda to hydrate in the mid-morning sun, fresh fish and salad for lunch and then a traditional curry for dinner - or of course to venture out - but with the cooking so delicious you almost don’t want to leave.
