I am from California, USA and have never been to Sweden. I decided to visit and surprise a close friend/ex-girlfriend who lives near Söderhamn.
I was not sure where to stay in Söderhamn and chose Prastgarden Hotell and was glad I did. This hotel and the surrounding area is quietly gorgeous.
I was not feeling my best during this time (had just resigned my job), but staying here for three days was a wonderful experience! Thomas (the hotell owner) is friendly, first-rate and does his best to make everyone feel welcome.

The service was excellent and they were very helpful from providing safe storage for our bikes in the basement to recycling our AA batteries. The room had a very comfortable bed and a working area for the laptop. The bathroom was large and the shower had a good supply of hot water. We were thoroughly impressed with the service provided by the owner Thomas. Every attempt was made to provide us with the best possible experience.
Luxurious, newly furnished rooms with a view into the city. Top class meals with freshly picked ingredients. Walking distance to the city center, local nature and the hottest tourist spots.
