Melchtal Resort — Hotel in Kerns

This hotel has gone all out on providing quality play and entertainment for ALL ages. It was brilliant to see older children also being catered for so well.|The rooms were clean with modern amenities and well equipped. |Water pressure great|Hot water hot|Heated pool was pretty and had a|jacuzzi and pressure bubbles.|They have a sauna well equipped gym, weights and training room, and all facilities are free to guests. |Well equipped kitchen|Great facilities for older children - Ninja run, table football, virtual game station, pool table, air hockey plus a bunch of other stuff.|There’s a big playroom for smaller children with real duplo and lots of other things including a soft play area.||Staff were brilliant, nothing was too much and they went out of their way to help and provide whatever we needed.|The rooms were quiet, warm and extra duvets (not needed) were available.|The windows had electric shutters on that did great at blackening the room, so we could sleep well.|Finding your way around the hotel was a little tricky at first, but my 11yr old figured it out quickly.|The church bells across the road were loud and chimed every half an hour, even throughout the night - at one point we thought the automatic bell ringer must be stuck because it didn’t seem to stop, but we laughed it off and didn’t notice it after the first night. |I’m sure the church and its bells were here long before the hotels, so we have no place to complain.|The shuttle bus service is perfect (and free). We rented a 2-bedroom apartment during Christmas. The hotel is directly in front of the bus station that takes you to the ski area in 8 minute ( runs once/hr) and the hotel is clean and new. ||It seems to new that they did not think much about kitchen amenities. Cutting knives looks good but are dangerously dull,the restaurant downstairs is closed during Christmas so we have to cook all the time. There’s no mittens for the oven. No wine opener, no fondue pot ( expected or for a Swiss hotel but thanks god we brought it) no Baking sheet . ||We went downstairs to the reception to ask for a help. It is open for 2 hours between 3-5pm. I was there at 5pm and the restaurant staff who were enjoying drinking and ignored me when I knocked on the entrance door to ask for mittens for oven. ||We also needed to pick up bath robe from the kitchen and we were scolded that the restaurant is closed. Zimmer/Ferienwohnung sehr schön. Der Service dafür sehr schlecht. Unfreundliches Personal beim Check-In, keine Begrüssung, keine Erklärungen zum Hotel oder wo was ist/wie lange man essen kann/ wie lange das Bad offen hat etc, ebenfalls kein Smalltalk. Nur sagen dass man das Geld bezahlen muss und den Schlüssel in die Hand drücken - Fertig. Nach dem überraschenden Empfang waren wir sehr verwundert. Die Ferienwohnungen war dafür sehr schön, sauber und gut Eingerichtet, jedoch gab es nur Kaffee Kapseln & kein Tee. Der Fitnessraum war eher klein und man war sehr ausgestellt (direkte Glasfront zum Gang). Kostenpflichtiger Boxautomat und Tischkicker Kasten vorhanden. Der Ninja Warrior Parcour war dafür wieder cool, hat gut gewählte Hindernisse. Die Anlage war abgeschaltet und wir mussten zur Reception, damit sie die Stoppuhr/Bildschirm einschalten. Auch da hatte das Personal keine Ahnung wo einschalten und er lief dann quer durch den Parcour und suchte das Stromnetz. Die Gaming Arena (Valo Arena 3D) war ganz cool gemacht aber leider sehr teuer für kurze Games, man zahlt pro Person die mitspielen, also 5 Leute = 10chf für 1 Spiel, aber gleiche Zeit wie wenn 2 Leute spielen, das hat für mich nicht so Sinn gemacht... Es gab keine Bademäntel im Zimmer, auch da mussten wir wieder zur Reception und nachfragen, und wurde versprochen direkt einen zu bringen, doch das dauerte sehr lange, deshalb haben wir nochmals nachgefragt, dann bekamen wir 2 Taschen mit Bademäntel drin, jedoch waren nur 4 anstatt 5 Mäntel da war ich sehr schwach & mühsam fand. Das Bad war sehr klein und das Wasser eher kalt, nichts mit entspannen oder Wellness wohlfühlen. Die Bad-Türe klemmt und man muss sehr fest drucken dass sie aufgeht. Der Wasserfall im Bad funktioniert nicht und es gab auch nach langem Suchen kein einschalt Knopf wie beim Sprudel Bereich. Das Abendessen war dafür wieder Gut.
