Hotel Petersgrat — Hotel in Kippel

I stayed at the Petersgrat for one night in the deepest of November when I had no other choice because everything else was closed during off-season. ||The hosts were friendly, the room was oldish and on the small side, but clean. Breakfast the next morning was all right with a selection of rolls, croissants, butter, cheese and some cold cuts, but I still thought that the 80 Swiss francs I payed for the deal were on the steep side. ||But then again, all Lötschental hotels are in a similar price range so I guess that's just what you have to pay if you want to stay there. Wir haben nur den Kritikpunkt, dass im Zusammenhang mit dem Preis die Einrichtung des Zimmers und der Zustand des Badezimmers überholungsbedürftig und recht schlicht und altmodisch sind. Letzteres ist allerdings natürlich Geschmackssache. Dafür war alles wirklich sehr, sehr sauber, da kann sich so manches 5*-Hotel noch etwas abschauen. Das geräumige Zimmer (mit herrlicher Aussicht!) wurde morgens sehr gründlich gereinigt. Der Empfang und die Bewirtung waren mehr als herzlich. Freundlich und offen waren Wirtin und Angestellte. Zum Frühstück, welches von einem Gast hier bemängelt wird, möchte ich nur sagen: wer ein großes und ausgefallenes Buffet erwartet, sollte sich eine entsprechende Unterkunft suchen. Wir haben nichts zu beanstanden, da sich für jeden Geschmack etwas fand: Wurst, Käse, diverse Sorten Marmelade, verschiedene Brote/Brötchen, Joghurt, Müsli und O-Saft. Auch finde ich nichts schlechtes am Thermoskannenkaffee - im Gegenteil: man muss nicht ständig aufstehen, um für einen Tasse Kaffee mit mehreren Gästen in der Schlange am Kaffeeautomaten zu warten. Außerdem war die Wirtin sehr aufmerksam und bot auch heiße Schokolade als Alternative an. Das W-Lan funktionierte tadellos und wir hatten einen kostenfreien (!) Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus. Für Wanderer oder Skifahrer ist die Lage hervorragend, für fußlahme Menschen, die mit dem Auto von Sehenswürdigkeit zu Sehenswürdigkeit fahren möchten, weniger ratsam (ist doch etwas abgeschieden). This was one of the best stays my friend and I had - the owners are really sweet, the rooms nice, the location wonderful for hikes. What was a real treat was the wonderful breakfast buffet where they offered me all non-animal / vegan options including soy milk, margarine and vegan cheese! We also ate dinner there and the cook (the husband owner) made the best Rösti I ever had - not fat but with plenty of veggies. ||||So I can highly recommend this for everybody, including...
