We stayed here twice within a couple of weeks - going and coming back from a road trip to Croatia.||||Let's deal with negatives first - no a/c and it around 30c+ on both visits, which is ok if you can keep the windows open but due to biting insects and road noise this is quite difficult.||||So any other time of year you are laughing as the hotel is great, we stayed in 2 different rooms, well one was a lavish suite with hot tub style bath and the other was an apartment. Both were clean and tidy and had loads of space and amenities.||The hotel gave us free train tickets to Lucerne which is one-stop away super convenient from the local station which is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel.||||The hotel has a huge car park and so parking was never an issue for us and the breakfast menu was not vast but everything was very tasty and fresh - we did not eat an evening meal so can't comment on that but from what we saw it looked great.||||The staff, in particular the manager were super helpful and friendly and were the main reason we re-booked to stay on on way back from Croatia. They can't really help their position regards the road they are next to and the windows are heavy and double glazed to help prevent noise but if owned the hotel a/c would be number one of my list - but i understand also for much of the year and for some more average summers this may not seem as important as it did this summer .||||All in all we enjoyed both stays and would come again - when cooler :))))...
Read moreWe stayed here one night on the start of our Grand Tour of Switzerland. I chose the hotel firstly for the parking option, and then for the other reviews about it having good access by public transport to Lucerne. On arrival approx 18h00 we were greeted by a few locals watching a World Cup match, and the gentleman who checked us in was extremely helpful (he spoke great English which was good as we have no German skills!). He gave us free transport passes for the trains, advised us where the train station was, and the times of the trains to & from Lucerne (note the trains are once per hour, and on a Saturday the last train back was 00h16). The room was perfect, we had a huge jacuzzi bath, an amazing walk-in shower and it was all extremely comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast was basic but well done. A great start...
Read moreWe arrived on a Monday, when the hotel basically is closed (Sunday as well). You get your keys from a coded box. Our rooms faced a busy road, and, with no air-conditioning, meant open windows and road noise. There was no refrigerator in the room. The beds were small but comfortable, as was the pillow. The shower was nice.||Breakfast was good though minimal, mostly cold items such as bread, meats, cheeses, croissants, yogurt, etc. The coffee is great.||Parking was ample and free. Service was friendly and accommodating.||There is nothing in the near vicinity and Luzern is far away, so if you are planning on visiting Luzern you should book another hotel. You can use mass transit, but it will take you awhile to get...
