Stayed in this heavenly site for 10 glorious nights. Various sized pitches and ours was perfect for the size of our large tent. Panoramic views were absolutely amazing and changed as the day went on. Nice and cool in the morning as the sun was behind the mountain and warmed up as soon as the sun came over and very pleasant all day. Cooled down as the sun went behind the mountain but not so cold that it was uncomfortable. |Shower blocks were clean, they had their busy periods but was never a problem for us. |Staff in reception were extremely helpful (even helping me with an issue with our van, calling up local garages to translate for me). Bread orders for the morning, which was wonderful (although a lot of weight was gained from so much bread!).|The site was on a hill and well maintained and led off to lots of hikes for various levels of hikers. We have 2 young children (5 and 7) and found a few gentle walks around the site through forests and over water falls. |The air is clean and the area is beautiful.|Very expensive as we expected Switzerland to be so ate at the tent most nights. |We thoroughly recommend the St Bernard Pass card which was 39Chf each for the 3 of us (5 yr old was free). It gave us transport to surrounding areas. I recommend the local lake (lac) for rowing, Pedlos and paddle boards which you can get with pass. In La Fouly you can use pass to go up chair lift and ride down on off road scooters, which was awesome.|Will definitely be back to this site and had an amazing time. Would recommend this site to one and all. Very reasonable price for site considering it is in Switzerland. |Thank you for making our stay...
Read moreWe stayed here for around a week and found the campsite lovely and the local scenery absolutely spectacular. You’ll be in for a real scenery treat driving up the road to this place, and many more during your stay. ||||The campsite is pretty much all you could ask for. We pitched in the woods for a little bit of privacy which worked out nicely, the pitches are clean and tidy, the toilets and showers are clean and in good order, there are washing machines and dryers, a communal house with computers and microwave, there was never any excessive noise at night, and basically it was everything you’d want a campsite to be. ||||Due to its altitude - around 5200ft - it could get a little chilly in the evenings where we would wear a fleece and trousers, but our 3 season sleeping bags were warm enough. Some campers had little camp fires which were never problematic regards smoke, etc. ||||The location is great for walks up to the glaciers and beyond, and on the other side of the valley a chair lift is well worth a visit. From the top there’s an incredibly scenic walk along to La Ferret - a small hamlet further up the valley - and back down to La Fouly where the campsite is located. This village offers some nice restaurants and bar. The campsite also has a little shop for essentials. There’s plenty for young kids to do, and all in all I’d highly recommend this place if you’re into walking at whatever level, and enjoying spectacular Alpine scenery. ||||And that’s from someone who almost always wildcamps through a general dislike of...
Read moreWe simply loved this site. It was cloudy and rainy when we arrived and so we couldn't really see the mountains. We knew there was a glacier close by, but we're blown away when we awoke to clear skies and a stunning view of the glacier literally in front of us.||The facilities are clean and well situated. There is plenty of showers etc. Plenty of hook ups available too. What we really liked about this site is the sense of space - no one is on top of you. If you have children, there is a great playground.||Staff are very helpful - with getting day passes for the chairlift etc. The pass is a fantastic idea - you can use the chairlift to go up and then use the mountain bikes to come down. Our young people loved doing this. There is also a high ropes and zip wire course below the camp site and this is included in the daily price of the pass, which is 9 euros. If you plan to go to Champex the same pass will give you access to the chair lift there and the swimming pool. So for 9 euros a day, there is lots you can do - the staff can provide a list.||La Fouly itself has a good supermarket. It really is just a ski resort but has a...
