The rudest business owner I've ever met in my whole life. My partner had picked this location as we were traveling from Zurich to Geneva, after spending time in Amsterdam and Cologne. Provide context of how big this trip was and how we were particularly excited about staying here in Interlocken. This stop was our 4th stay of 6, we did our best to meet pre-determined check-in times and had no issues except this stop. The business was aware of our arrival time but in case we couldnt make it, they decided to change communication methods from Booking.com to Whatsapp to provide details of where we were staying. I did not receive any messages via WhatsApp. They also had my email, as we communicated there about a booking issue through Booking.com before officially booking this location. As we got closer to the check-in, I reached out multiple times on Booking and WhatsApp without a reply. Only 30mins after they closed, we arrived and noticed a call box for “after hours” but with a sign that mentioned “only in case of an emergency”. We decided to look for the cabin that was shown in the photos and proceeded to put our stuff inside while we waited for a response. An hour has gone by and no reply on Whatsapp, so I call them on their “emergency box”. They explained which cabin we were in, but stated we were not in that cabin and mentioned which one was ours. I walked back to move our stuff. A couple of minutes went by, and I was moving the last item over. An older man on a bicycle pulled up, walked into the cabin, looked around, then locked the door. Didn’t say hello, got on the bike, and as he was about to ride away, my partner stopped him to ask “How do we get the fridge to turn on?” With the tone of a frustrated dad talking to a child, he said, “You plug it in”. Then pettled off. Well, from how the cord was routed, it looked plugged in and was misleading; also, we’ve been traveling all day. Keep in mind its only 830pm ish…So, instead of greeting us and checking us in, that was his response. We also wanted to rent bikes to get to town for dinner since we had no food and there was no cab option, but of course they wont even speak to us never mind accommodate our needs. The next day I received messages from them about how we needed to check in so they could see our passports and collect a tourist fee (13 franks), but we had left early to go into the mountains. Their hours of operation were not accommodating for someone leaving early and returning late. While on the mountain, my partner and I had explained to them our unavailability to be there, to which I sent photos of passports and mentioned I would leave the money in the cabin. Thats the short of it. They had nothing but excuses why the original WhatsApp message with details about our cabin info was not received and how they were “not rude,” and “everything they did was correct.” They even tried to say our number was incorrect on booking.com and after showing them it was correct we just got more excuses instead of recognition of their error. The 2nd morning, as we were packing up for our departure, a very nice young girl stopped by to say hello and was able to grab the money. The End P.S. - Don’t stay here. Location not ideal for travelers with only a backpack and a Swiss...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Camping Lazy Rancho, and I cannot contain my enthusiasm to share my experience. From the moment we arrived until the day of our departure, we were overwhelmed by the incredible hospitality, cleanliness, extensive facilities, and breathtaking views. I am certain that I will return to this wonderful campground in the future.
First and foremost, the level of hospitality we received was simply astounding. The staff members were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. They were always available to answer our questions, provide helpful suggestions for activities in the area, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. It was a refreshing and delightful experience.
One aspect that truly stood out was the impeccable cleanliness throughout the entire campground. The well-maintained facilities, including the restrooms, showers, and communal areas, were spotless at all times. It was evident that the management takes great pride in providing a clean and hygienic environment for all campers. This attention to detail greatly enhanced our overall enjoyment and comfort.
The campground boasted a generously equipped infrastructure that catered to all our needs. From spacious camping pitches to the beautiful pool area, everything was thoughtfully designed to ensure a pleasurable stay. The variety of amenities, such as recreational areas or children's play areas, ensured that there was something for everyone. We were particularly impressed by the well-stocked camp store, which offered a wide range of supplies at extremely fair prices. It was convenient to have everything we needed within reach.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of our stay was the location itself, which offered a magnificent and unparalleled view. Nestled amidst nature's beauty, the campground provided awe-inspiring vistas that took our breath away. We woke up to stunning sunrises above Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and enjoyed unforgettable sunsets over Lake Thun. The serenity and tranquility of the surroundings created a truly magical atmosphere that allowed us to unwind and connect with nature.
In conclusion, our time at this camping site was nothing short of extraordinary. The incredible hospitality, cleanliness, extensive facilities, fair prices at the camp store, and the picturesque location made our stay unforgettable. I have no doubt that I will return to this remarkable campground in the future to relive the exceptional experience. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable...
Read moreMy original review: Camping Lazy Rancho is one of the five consecutive camping sites in a row in the same area. Personally I believe this is the best one with regarding to the location, view, infrastructure and scale. Everything is clean and well maintained. There are enough resources for everyone so that we rarely needed to queue for something. The staff are generally very friendly and helpful except the two ladies working at the reception / shop. Their simling might be a payable service.
Response from the business owner: Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. However, we do not appreciate comments towards the women working on our team. It's the year 2020, telling women to smile more is incredibly sexist and offensive and we appreciate that our entire team is treated equally, with respect and common decency. Our business is a place of work where all employees are free to express themselves in whichever way they feel is authentic to themselves and we do not measure our service quality by the amounts of smiles of women or men. Thank you for understanding Best, Your Camping Lazy Rancho Team
My reply to the response: Unfortunately, you did not fully understand the point of my original feedback. I used "ladies" to simply refer to the employees who are female. In German you even distinguish between male and female for all occupations don't you? My point was not about the gender. And I didn't say women should smile MORE than man. Not sure how you drew such a conclusion. Let me make my point clear: the two employees who worked at the reception were not friendly to the customers. Their personal freedom of expression should not overrule the normal expectation from your customers. It was the year of 2020 and you still didn't get it....
