Arrived at 9:10 for dinner, place closes at 11, but we were very disappointed. Waited 5min to be acknowledged by a waitress who asked us if we wanted dinner, when we said yes, she said the kitchen closes at 8:45 and to go to Interlacken to have food. They are open till 11, but ok no problem, our fault but what happened after sucked. The waitress just left, eventually walked past us and we asked if we can have desert, she said yes and just walked away again… super weird and awkward. The place was still full of people drinking and finishing their food, she didn’t offer, “you can have a drink, go sit wherever you like, I will be right over…” just went off to clean up or whatever, parking lot is full, place is still 60-70% full with lots of folks inside, lots of time and tables left. We have two small kids with us in our arms crying, we came by the bus from Interlacken (comes every hour)… just let us hang there at the entrance with crying kids for 5-10 minutes (felt like an eternity)…. other waiters/cleaners passed by, no acknowledgement, we were obviously waiting, my wife and I had enough, we left to wait at the bust stop for 30min, back to Interlacken. Worst feeling ever, 10yr Anniversary ruined! I can accept my mistake for coming late and having the kitchen closed at 8:45 but just letting us stand there, like idiots, when they said they had desert, not inviting us to sit for a drink, children crying “I’m hungry”, waiting to be acknowledged… 0 stars from me! Will never go back, also best view is for like 5 tables at the edge, and nothing special that you can’t see anywhere else in this...
Read moreSo we came here more so just for the view. My brother wanted to take some photos of Interlaken from this restaurant, and it was highly rated on TripAdvisor. We made a reservation, but funny enough is that there wasn't TOO many people.
The service here was pretty good. The funny thing is that the place seems pretty touristy - but they didn't have their menu in English (FOR LUNCH). Luckily, we had Google Translate, and I know a tad bit of German.
I myself, had the Oberländer Rösti - which I HIGHLY recommend. It was absolutely delicious. I devoured the entire thing (but felt extremely tired afterward). My brother had the schnitzel and my sister-in-law had the pork steak. Both were also very good. Fair warning though: the dishes are pretty big! So make sure you have the stomach to eat...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, we felt unwelcome. The server didn’t greet us warmly — instead, she looked down on us and immediately stated, “We just have the cold menu, so you know,” with an attitude. We were okay with that, but when we asked to sit at a different empty table, she responded with, “You know what, just do whatever you want.” No effort to accommodate us or guide us to a table.
We ultimately walked out because the service and attitude were unacceptable. This was by far the worst hospitality I’ve encountered at any restaurant — especially disappointing for a place in Switzerland, where we expected a...
