If you really want to make the best use of the full 4 Valleys ski area, Veysonnaz is not the best place to go. Sure, there're nice places to stay there, but lifts in the Veysonnaz/Thyon area are really outdated (save the two cabin lifts). Most of them are surface lifts. Connection to the greater 4 valleys area is dependent on multiple older lifts and on days with less favorable weather you may be limited to either remain in the Veysonnaz/thyon area, can't ski at all or drive to another base station which may take anywhere between 30 and 90 minutes, depending where you go.
