A superb minsu. We had a wonderful stay with Arthur and his family. The minsu is about a 10-minute drive (roughly 180 Taiwanese dollars taxi) from the Hualien train station, but is in a nice residential neighborhood near a university. There are several restaurant options within walking distance, but it's quiet at night and also a great jumping off point for bike rides along the river, as well as to Mukumugi and Liyu Lake (the minsu has free bike rentals). The rooms are extremely charming -- our Japanese room had touches such as a two-person soaker tub, nice art pieces, a private tiny zen garden, fresh flowers and an oil diffuser.
