Pokara Resort — Hotel in Jiaoxi Township

1. Hotel architechural designs||||It was both interior designs and exterior that caught my attention which i booked immediately. Booked two rooms for two nights with quadruple bedding where 4 adults could sleep comfortably. The exterior of the resort was captivating as as the room decor. ||||2 ) Reception ||A small area where big group of hotel guests would find it little clautrophobic. But the common area make up for it as one entered a long hall way with comfy and engonormic sofas and couches on the side. A rule of house slippers should be worn at all times within the premise. Over all , the common area and dining room (located at the rear) was immaculately clean. ||||3 ) Rooms ||Quadruple rooms were located on the first floor( Second floor , American english) , with physically challenge ederly in the group, this became quite an obastacle as there wasnt any lift facilities . Rooms on ground floor was only for double bedded occupancy. May not consider quad room in the event of revisiting. ||The beds were comfy , air conditioning worked well with one room having problem but was rectified quickly. Complimentary water bottles were replenished daily . Ice buckle was served upon request. Rooms were clean except few signs of tear and wear. Wall paint was seen coming out and moss in the bathtub was rather disgusting. ||||However, the kids enjoyed and indulged in the variety of tv channels and programmes made Available. Kudos !!! ||||3.1 Porters ||When we arrived , the porters brought our rather heavy luggage to our rooms. However , we carried it down to the ground floor on check out as there was only a female staff on duty during check-out time. ||||4. Staff attentiveness||Overall the staff were generally courteous and friendly espcially a male staff who was also the duty manager. He was nice. chatty , informative and with a very can-do atttitude. However, there was a female recep who was not so helpful during breakfast service. Running out of soy milk, there was no one and i approached her at the reception. Sitting there she just directed me to ask for the kitchen staff to replenish. I went back , knocked twice but to no avail. Seeing her the second time, she seemed a little annoyed. As a hotelier, her enthusiasm towards championing customers satisfaction vanished. ||||5. Other facilities||The onsite gym which was next to the main hall was a total dismay. A small area with very limited two pieces of gym equipment. However it wad dusty , dirty and full of bird faeces. I dare not even touch it. The manager explained that hardly any hotel guest uses it. But i thought the opposite. ||||6) Meals ||Rooms came with breakfast and afternoon snacks. Breakfast was good enough with mostly Taiwanese breakfast fare. Notably. it lacked the variety of western food. As Asians , we were not complaning. ||Afternoon snacks was great as well. Selection of bread and pastried went perfectly well with homemade garlic butter. Fruits and biscuits , coffee and tea were available. ||||7) Location ||A bit far off from Jiao Xi centre where all activities were gathered. Yet it did not prove a problem as we had a hired van. The resort , like other have commented , offered tranquility amidst paddy field area. Come harvest time, the scenery would have been greater. ||||Overall it was a pleasant stay , i would still consider staying here the next time i...

Our room at Pokara resort was a 18sqm Superior Double room with a king size bed. Due to the fact that partitions are glass, the room felt bigger than what it really was.||||What we like about this place:||1. Has a bali-feel and decoration was really pleasing to the eye.||2. Free parking just outside the property||3. Room felt spacious and comfortable||4. Flooring was wood and we didn’t feel squeamish when the toddler sat down on the floor to play||5. Property owner even provided teabreak daily from 4-7pm. The homemade garlic bread spread was amazing! We did feel like we were eating non stop though.. haha||6. Service staff were really polite and I even saw one running across the property to offer to help a group of people to take pictures because they were trying to operate their selfie stick. Amazing service.||7. Blackout curtains! ||||What we dislike about this place: ||1. A large group arrived on the last night of our stay and they were quite noisy. Despite the owner’s efforts to block out noise by having double doors, we could hear the noise generated from the group having breakfast outside our doors (ground floor units are directly next to the dining area). Our sleep was thus disrupted.||2. It’s located at a really secluded area and you’re not going to be able to make it there without your own transport. They do offer pickup services at the train station if I’m not wrong, but thereafter it might be difficult for you to settle your meals. I saw someone eating cup noodles though… and gathered that with the hi-tea provided and cup noodles, you can survive...

Since there was a great discount, my wife and I decided to take a short trip and spend a night there.

It was certainly a great choice! The location is a bit rural, which makes it incredibly peaceful—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the natural surroundings. We stayed in a cozy wooden cabin (小木屋) with a private hot spring room. It was so relaxing to soak in the bath while enjoying the view—just open the curtain and there’s a large window overlooking the outdoors.

The next morning, we had a lovely breakfast. While it didn’t offer everything, the food was satisfying with no complaints. The dining area overlooks the rice fields, adding to the experience.
