Great resort away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel is designed very thoughtfully. We stayed in a room with its own garage and patio that leads out to the beach. The patio is a covered with seating for meals or conversation, and even a rack for drying wet bathing suits. You can open the window to let in the breeze. There are hoses outside for you to rinse off before entering your room.
Lots of drinks and snacks included in the room, and they replenish daily. The breakfast buffet is amazing; it's a very wide spread. The pool is brilliant, very warm so even in colder weather you're not afraid to go in. It rained on us a couple times but passed quickly. If it does rain there are several outdoor, covered spa areas that you can relax in. There are several that even kids can use as they are not too hot. Locker/changing room has free lockers with keys, plenty of showers with soap and shampoo dispensers, and hair dryers too. There's even a bathing suit dryer. They really did think of everything. Sauna and steam available but didn't try.
Kids' outdoor play area is on the beach but covered so you can play rain or shine. So many toys to play with. There are hoses and air sprayers for sand removal. So thoughtful! Kids' playroom is very spacious. Arcade available with pool table, air hockey, Foosball and some video games, all FREE!
We had a great stay and highly recommend this resort!!
Here are a few minor complaints: smoke smell in the room. Even though this is a non smoking room, you can tell that it used to be with the lingering scent. Also, after breakfast, there is no on-site lunch option. They do offer bbq for dinner but we didn't try it. Maybe if we stayed another night we might have because of the lack of nearby food options. Many local spots were closed because it is the slow season right now (late November). To make up for it, they provide lots of instant noodles. Oh and they only allow one towel change per day, which is expected to be used at the pool and in the room. So if you're picky about towels, maybe bring some of your own for backup. Lastly, they have very loud recordings of birds playing in the outdoor entry area. It's loud enough to hear from the bedroom and is very distracting and completely...
Read moreWell.... I feel this place is overrated big time. The hot spring is okay. Be careful the mineral water residue makes your feet slippery. I nearly killed myself stepping down the four inches out of the bathroom. NEGATIVES: upon entering the 1st staff member asked if we had a reservation... Well you're sold out what do you think!? I said yes. Then I'm trying to unload my bags to the floor, she wants to see my reservation. I put up my hand if to say wait 🫸. She then asked for my passport. I'm said, "I can only do three things at once!" She laughed. All this while I was trying to unload an dmaneuver all our bags from hands to the floor. No assistance toankenylur bags to the room! Nothing but that way is your room. I felt like a number. Not a guest. Later I asked for hand soap for the sink. You have to pay 35cents for a tiny little pkg of hand soap. Yet they have free noodles, drinks and snacks in the room. I told her with the translator to buy hand soap for the room was ridiculous. Customer service here is the bare minimum. Restaurant is only open for the free breakfast. We had to walk down the road to a very expensive seafood joint to get dinner. We should have ate the free Ramen. For $300 a night this place is a joke. NO HAND SOAP PROVIDED. NO RESTAURANT. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. POSITIVES: the private beach is literally right outside the main lobby. It comes right up to the hotel. Unfortunately we were here during a massive wind storm. So going 400meters to get dinner Bec their restaurant nis only open for breakfast was an adventure. The room was nice. The balcony is awesome. Has a rock table and rock stools. Hangers and plenty of wind to dry clothes. Free snack and noodles in the room with hot pot for coffee and boiling the water. The spring spa is geared to the kids because it's family friendly. Naked not required. High pressure nozzles are great for the spa. OVERALL:...
Read moreNice stay for families with the indoor pool/spa area and children's play areas. Friendly staff, the largest breakfast buffet spread I've ever seen at hotels that provide that kind of breakfast (and surprisingly tasted pretty good!), and can buy water gear on site. A windowed balcony on upper floors (if you can't get a room that walks out onto the beach) still gives you a great view and a place to dry clothes or chill at a stone table. The 600ntd bbq for two adults is a lot of food; just head down the street to PX Mart for veggies other than corn if you want. They provide everything except scissors/knives, so bring those as needed. Practice your fire-making skills on their bbq patio area overlooking the beach (but sadly you can't walk down to the beach from it). It's another 600ntd/hr if you want to extend your room stay. You can clean up the sand well with high pressure water or air on the way back in from the beach though.
Some other drawbacks: the AC in rooms is very weak, and unfortunately all the fans available in the hotel were borrowed already. Takes a long time to cool down properly. The desk sent staff to adjust the direction of the air at least to blow on the beds better, but still had a hot sleep until early morning. it's a long walk from the rooms on the upper floor to the bbq area (you need to walk past all the rooms with garages), so make sure you don't forget anything when going there or to the beach. the beach is surprisingly dirty particularly where the waves lap the beach, due to the ocean constantly dumping junk. Wish they could clean it more often. Definitely bring a blanket. You can rent umbrellas+chairs on the beach for 500ntd for the full day, but can't do any shorter duration, even if you just want to stay an extra hour.
Would happily return to try staying in a room w/ a garage and patio...
