I absolutely loved Taroko B&B. This is a TRUE B&B—the kind that existed before hotel chains started calling themselves B&Bs simply because they happen to serve breakfast. This is a real B&B where you meet and interact with the owners. And indeed the best thing about this wonderful place is the hospitality of the owner, Chia. She's a young entrepreneur that opened this business recently and she runs it with her family. The hospitality I was shown here was far above and beyond anything I expected. ||||I was the only guest the night I stayed here in the off season. The rooms were new, modern, well decorated, and ultra clean. The owner took a lot of time to explain the best places to visit in Taroko (you can't see it all in one day). After that, I was treated to a local home cooked dinner with her family. They get veggies from the nearby farm. The next morning after breakfast, the owner drove me to the station herself so that I could catch a bus to Taroko gorge. This is the closest place to stay to the train station (moderate walking distance) and the Taroko bus. Don't hesitate to make Taroko B&B your base for exploring Taroko Gorge. Read moreTaroko Mountain View B&B is really a perfect place to stay. Quiet, clean, cozy, and located not far from Xincheng Taroko train station. (About 15min walk) Distance to Hualien main station is 3 stations by local train. The host family is very friendly and helpful and will help you wherever possible. Since the Taroko valley was still not accessible during my stay after a recent earthquake, they took me around by car to visit local sights for a very reasonable price. Not at least the rich and varied breakfast, where special wishes will be considered, should be mentioned. All...
