My wife and I stayed at the Hhando Coffee Lodge for 2 nights, at the start and end of our Safari.
The lodge is just a couple of minutes drive to the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, so a perfect spot to base yourself for the start of Safari and after a long day of driving back from the Serengeti.
The Lodge is set in a beautiful valley with surrounded by forested trees. There is wildlife aplenty nearby and we saw baboons and water buffalo. It is a gorgeous and peaceful location.
We stayed in two rooms, facing different directions. The view facing to the south is probably better! The room was spacious, confortable, nice shower facilities, though the quality varied between the rooms. The room was basic but made to look like an upmarket hut which was kind of cool. We had great views from our balcony which was the perfect spot to unwind after a long day on the road.
The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming and attended to our every need. Everyone was so nice, and they even made a cake for my wife's birthday on our second night there.
The dinner menu is limited, but their choices were extremely satisfying. We were both very full after every meal. There was lots of choice for breakfast too! Their coffee was by far the best coffee I had...
Read moreOh how I loved my hut! The views from the porch/deck... so picturesque. Sights only to be seen in dreams. I could've sat for hours. You must experience this with your own eyes. How many elephants will appear?! The room was clean, very specious, and the shower water was hot! December was the perfect time of year to catch lovely breezes from the windows. Also, the grounds were immaculate and eye catching; including the pool and the coffee crops. The greenery along the sidwalks and beautiful stars in the sky at night really made me feel like I was in heaven already. Dinner, in the dining area each evening, was tasty and fancy (lovely table settings and lit candles). Not to mention there was a lovely deck on the backside of the welcome center that you could sit out on. My, my. It was a picture frame to God's creations.
Thank you to Nico, John, Reagan, David, Steven, Victoria, and Edita. They all were attentive and made my stay one of a kind. Bless them for the family atmosphere, their kindness,...
Read moreWhat a special place this is! We stayed 2 nights whilst on Safari and felt very spoilt during our stay. We were greeted on arrival with fresh juice and warm towels, there was always a member of staff to help us. The food and breakfast was great, lots of choice, and very generous portions! The hotel itself is gorgeous- such a beautiful location. A highlight was that we could see a mother and baby elephant from our balcony! It was such a great experience. The rooms had everything you could want, a very luxurious stay. The pool was the perfect refreshment after a day on Safari. I would give a 5 star review but sadly on the last day, we were charged a monstrous $47 for one load of laundry which was not communicated to us at the time of asking. We were presented with a contract that we were never given/signed, so clearly communication between staff needs to be improved. Apart from this- an amazing stay! Thank you for a very...
