Mrimba Palm is a lovely hotel in Arusha. Sadly, appearances are deceiving. While the bed was comfortable and they had AC, hot water didn't last more than a few minutes. For a post safari or hike stay, a long hot shower is essential and Mrimba fails. They offer limited TV channels for those who are looking to catch up after being out of touch with news, etc. They say coffee maker in each room, they do not. My first room had no working TV and initially, they didn't want to move me.
Worst part, we were charged full rack rate at 78 a night despite online booking sites offering 36 per night. They used the excuse that it's high season but a look a month into the future on the online sites showed that same rate depsite their claims of high season.
Instead of doing the right thing and offering an adjustment on price, they did nothing, not even to comp a $15 dinner despite charging us double the daily rate online.
They claim English is spoken, but no one is fluent and communication is difficult at times.
Based on the experience, I would never recommend Mrimba. They fail at guest service and had the chance to resolve an issue easily for the soft cost of a meal and they couldn't even do that.

Read moreif you go to arusha stay at this hotel. Great price/quality and the owner joseph is super kind and helpful. We arranged via him an excursion to arusha (big market, tanzanite experience, experiencing the busy city of arusha) and also a safari to arusha NP. Although the park is one of the smaller ones it was great and very different then tarangire. In arusha np we saw colobus monkeys, a lot of giraffes, flamingos and a lotnof other smaller animals. The deluxe rooms are very spacious and have an airconditioning, which was very welcome to have a good sleep. We always stayed at the hotel to eat. The food was very good. The hotel also has a nice garden so you can have a drink outside away from the big city of arusha. One point for improvement is the bathroom. Its one space and if you take a shower everything is wet, including the toilet. So it would be great to invest in a shower curtain or something to erase all the water from the floor. Again, we had a great stay at mrimba hotel..Joseph, thanl you very much for your hospitality and kindness. We felt very welcome...
Read moreLocated on the southern edge of Arusha, this little gem of a hotel is spotless, modern and has impeccable customer service. I spent 3 weeks in Tanzania and this is by far the nicest place I stayed at. Joseph and his staff are the best in the business and make you feel like royalty. My friends and I kept joking that we were staying at an all-inclusive resort because that's how the staff here makes you feel.
The rooms are spotless, the AC works great, the balcony is a nice extra, the showers hot and clean, the toilets clean, and the food is amazing. We stayed here 2 nights total and the breakfast was so good and the dinner was even better. I highly recommend the goat ribs or the kg of beef. The spaghetti side dish is also memorable. Grab an ice cold pint or two of safari too!
You won't find a better place in Arusha (or possibly Tanzania) for this price. Period. Thanks so much Joseph and staff for making the stay a memorable one for...
