Hands down, the best hotel, I have ever stayed at. The next best hotel, I have stayed at, doesn't even come within miles of this place. We are so glad that we had the opportunity to stay there during our visit to Kenya and Tanzania. The views are out of this world. Sunsets are unbelievable. Location is secluded, pristine and gorgeous. Quality of the place was beyond our wildest expectations. Rooms were the best we had stayed in, during our trip. Amenities were better than what you would come to expect in the west. What is unbelievable is that they were able to accomplish the feat in such a secluded location. Staff are extremely friendly (most of the staff are local Masai's). Do not miss sitting by the fireplace, during sunset. It's magical. Will definitely go to their other resorts located within the Serengeti, during our next trip.

This place is really beautiful, it is one of the few in Tanzania, just on the top of the rim of the world famous ngorongoro crater, it is a truly breath taking accomodation, food is plenty and taste, rooms are big, particularly the family house, manager and all workers are friendly and helpful. Be a local tourist or an international this place will suit you and make your holiday a different one. Will be back for sure. Thanks for a great experience.

I have the impression that all the places we stay in Tanzania go out of their way to deliver the best possible experience. We loved everything! Great cottage with a deck to sit outside, and inside heated blanket cover and gas heater. Bath ropes, slippers… felt like a five star hotel without all the extra charges. Stunning sunset views, great food. It was slightly less than one of the other camps but still great.

Premium price for an average stay.

We were looking forward to our stay at Lion’s law given that we paid a premium price for the room. The room and view is great but we stayed there for two cold nights. The temperature dropped to 8 degrees at night so imagine when you’re told you have to have a quick shower so you don’t utilise all the hot water for the next person as it will take 3 hours for the water to re-heat. My husband had no hot water towards the end of his shower cause I used most of it. The hairdryer runs on a generator so we had to call reception to turn it on before we use it, wait a couple of minutes, use it then call them back to turn it off.

The wifi is capped at 3GB for your entire stay which isn’t bad unless you want share videos of your day with friends and family. Did not expect a cap on wifi especially when the price of the room is so high.

While we had a heater and electric blanket in our room, our guide was only provided with a blanket. He did not have a good sleep and it did not make us feel good knowing we were staying at a place with segregation.

The food is mediocre overall, nothing to rave about. We were given chicken and the same peas and carrot dish for the two days we were there. The breakfast selection is little. We had more options at other accommodations. Dinner was ok, the vegetables on the second night were undercooked and hard.

Will not return or recommend even though the view and...

Disappointing stay at an average lodge that proclaims to be luxury.

Upon arrival, we were greeted graciously by the staff. Overall, the staff members were hospitable. My discontent is not directed toward them. Like most Tanzanians, they were happy and very polite.

The view was beautiful. You feel like you’re in a rain forest. Surrounded by nature and tranquility, it’s truly a unique experience.

The rooms were freezing cold. Fortunately, there’s an electric blanket to keep you warm. We struggled to find a balance between cold and hot. This affected my ability to stay asleep.

Although It’s understandable considering you’re off-the-grid, you’re restricted on the resources you consume. Water is limited. Quick showers are a necessity. The same is true for WiFi (3GB per/day), and electric use. Usage of a hair is also time limited.

My main complaint is with the food and drinks. Before dinner, I had a mixed drink at the bar. Something in the mixed drink (I suspect it was the ice cubes) made me violently ill. After finishing the drink, my stomach started to cramp. Then came dinner. I spent the evening vomiting, I had chills and night sweats, and a fever. The fever didn’t break for two days.

The food was mediocre at best. The steak was chewy and overcooked. The pinotage wine we ordered was likely oxidized. The smell was off and after one sip, I was done drinking.

I would not recommend...
