Last November, my family and I had the absolute privilege of spending three incredible nights at Burunge Tented Lodge, just outside Tarangire National Park. From the moment we arrived, we knew we’d found somewhere really special. The lodge has a stunning location overlooking the plains that stretch out towards Lake Burunge, and it feels wonderfully peaceful and close to nature.||The absolute highlight of our stay was watching a wild elephant wander right up to the lodge to drink from the water next to the pool. Sitting there, watching this huge, gentle animal so close by, was one of those magical safari moments we’ll never forget. Visiting at the end of the dry season turned out to be perfect — the wildlife was concentrated around the remaining water, making sightings easy and exciting both from the lodge and inside the park. Our tented room was large, comfortable, and beautifully positioned within the bush. It felt private and peaceful, yet still had all the comforts you could need. We loved sitting on our porch in the evenings, listening to the hyenas calling in the distance and watching bats swoop overhead. It felt wild but relaxing — exactly what you hope for on safari.||The food and service were both excellent. Every meal was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The staff were absolutely amazing — warm, friendly, and always smiling. We were travelling with our three-month-old baby, and they couldn’t have been more helpful or kind. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home, which made a huge difference to our experience. The game viewing inside Tarangire was fantastic. We spent time near the swamp area, where the wildlife was especially active. One morning, we were lucky enough to follow two lionesses hunting bushbuck along the swamp’s edge — a thrilling sight we’ll always remember. Burunge Tented Lodge truly exceeded all our expectations. The combination of its amazing location, wonderful staff, delicious food, and unforgettable wildlife encounters made this one of our favourite safari stays ever. We left already planning when we...
Read moreLake Burunge Resort is an excellent resort, beautifully designed around its pre-existing landscape. The hotel room designs are comfortable, with the balcony facing a huge open field with roaming impalas and pumbas. Rather debatable, the glass shower is visible immediately when entering the room, creating an odd sensation for a family trip. The hotel also offers free bikes for borrowing, so guests can cycle to the nearby lake filled with thousands of flamingos. There are Masai shepherds around the lake with their herds, creating a unique scenery to run against. The food is excellent, with a variety of jams and juices up for offer. The lunch box was nutritious and filled with enough food. Additionally, hospitality was also excellent, Mr Eliburuki gave excellent services, assisting us for the meal and even the bonfire. His Masai stories made our stay more enjoyable and felt at home. His kind presence at every meal made us feel very welcomed, in addition to the rest of the crew. Finally, our driver informed us that the staff quarters were also very comfortable, making us...
Read moreThis was easily the best accommodation in our trip so far. It was tented accommodation but was well set up and very comfortable. The rooms were large and spacious and the shower and bathroom well appointed. The view from the room was lovely and made it easy for us to watch the sunrise. The food was very tasty and there were lots of options available for the vegetarians in our group. The highlight was definitely watching the elephants congregate for a drink in the early morning and late afternoon. As the camp site is not fenced you require a guard to guide you to and from your tent after dark, which just added to the adventure! There’s a huge variety of animal and birdlife to watch and a firepit to sit around and chat about in the evening. Highly recommend...
