stayed here for one night. The location is great ..only about five minutes from the city centre, in a quiet local area that feels safe. The living and dining areas are cosy, the outdoor space is peaceful with an avocado tree, and the Wi-Fi is excellent. Jeremiah speaks English very well and was kind and welcoming. During my stay there was no running water, but Jeremiah went out of his way to fill buckets so we could still shower, which I appreciated. Because of the water issue, the house wasn’t very clean, but I understand it was difficult under those conditions. The beds were mixed ..the top bunk was comfortable but the lower one sagged a little. Overall, it’s a budget-friendly place with great potential. Once the water issue is sorted and a few small improvements are made, it’ll be a lovely spot for travellers looking for a quiet and friendly stay.

I spent 2 months in Karibu Jua Backpackers Hostel aka "The Pink House" while I was volunteering for Jeremiah's NGO Save Kids for Future. The Hostel is perfectly located for discovering Mbeya and it's surroundings and offers everything you need. Many people just spend one night there to take the Tazara train but I can also recommend staying longer to explore the region (Lake Ngosi, Mbeya Peak, Mount Rungwe,... there are lots of things to do) 😊 The pink house really felt like home and if you're looking for a volunteering opportunity get in touch with Jeremiah - you won't regret it!

A wonderful little homely spot, Jeramiah is a awesome host and welcomes you into his shared apartment with curiosity and open arms. If your lucky, the massive avo tree in the backyard will be ripe so you'll have as many avos as you can find :) A gorgeous white coated blue eyed wolf lurks In the garden protecting the property. A memorable stay. Thank you.

I had an amazing stay at Karibu Jua Backpackers Hostel! The atmosphere was super friendly and welcoming — perfect for travelers looking to relax and connect with others. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering great value for money.

The service was outstanding — the staff were kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with local tips or travel arrangements. The location is ideal, close to key attractions, local markets, and transport options, making it easy to explore the area.

I truly enjoyed my experience here and would highly recommend Karibu Jua to anyone visiting the area — whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or just need a cozy...

I stayed at Karibu Jua for 3 weeks, the place was well kept, it has all the amenities and more, wifi, huge couch and tv, fridge, 2 toilets and 2 bathrooms, kitchen and outside space. But it wasn't at all about the space what made the experience so unique and unforgettable. Jerry is the best host, he helped us with everything we needed and arranged all transports. We met his family and immediately felt like part of one too. If you decide to stay in this hostel you will definitely not leave changed and feeling like a part of something bigger and part of the community. Jerry keep up the...
