I was told that this was the best place to stay in Bagamoyo. Stayed one night. Room 305.||Check-in OK, staff extremely helpful, room was poor with mosquito net full of holes, wires exposed on light switch, only one bulb worked. A/c was powerful, but the temperature control didn’t work. Choice of cold or nothing. Worse, no water in the cistern in the morning to flush the toilet. Had to go and see staff who said someone had forgotten to flick a switch for the pump last night!! Couldn’t have shower because the water was scorching hot and no cold water to balance the temperature. |Then breakfast. “Sorry sir you’ll have to choose from the a la Carter as there’s no buffet breakfast”. Fair enough. Then, no orange juice (although oranges are in season), had to have watermelon juice instead. No choice. Ordered 2 fried eggs and fried mushrooms. Got two extremely fried eggs with what appeared to be mushrooms in mashed tinned plum tomatoes served cold. I asked for butter. The waiter was gone 7 mins to fetch it and came back with jam. “Sorry sir, we don’t have butter!!!” No butter at breakfast at a hotel? It isn’t possible surely? I got up to get my own salt and pepper just in case it took another half an hour. |All this after a dinner that was average at best. Had to send my grilled chicken back as it was uncooked inside with blood still evident. Order took 50 mins to process, and we were the only guests for the first 25 mins. |I’m trying to be fair, the staff were courteous and willing to help, but it left me feeling that the management is poor with lack of training and a chef who isn’t qualified. |If you decided to stay here, check the room first for water pressure, proper working a/c, and electrics. But whatever you do, eat elsewhere, the restaurant...
Read moreThe worst experience ever, avoid at all costs. 300 000 Tsh for the room without hot water (a lier from the reception kept saying that if we ran cold water long enough it would turn hot eventually but it didn't happen), old damaged furniture, a mosquito net that is smaller than the bed so you can't really close it, a lot of mosquitoes in the room, no kettle and only one bottle of water in the room, no mugs and only one dirty glass, plenty of bugs and flies, out of the staff only one person could understand English but didn't have enough knowledge to explain anything, no european or SA plugs in rooms, no deposit box, we came for breakfast at 7h30 to only find cleaning staff wiping the floor. The breakfast itself was extremely limited and more suitable for a 30k and not 300k hotel. Terrible place, will never come back. On the good side, they did fill our bottles with drinking water in...
Read moreThe resort was impressive at first. We were only here for the night. Couple of things triggered me like how the workers were not friendly. The service was bad. the AC was on full blast when asked for the remote control to reduce the speed i was told they were “all” lost. So it was either live with it or switch it off (which i couldn’t because it was too hot) the room was full of mosquitoes. The breakfast was bad. Very limited and tasteless. One of the waitress was eating from the hot pots while the other was on the phone when i was asking him for something. We usually pay during check outs but at this hotel we had to pay during check in which made me wonder why. It was more about “money” than customer’s service. In general the rooms are ok. Swimming pool is nice. Would visit again if i was under a...
