Pearl! A unique place. This is not a hotel, it is like staying with good friends. Fantastic owners who take care of you like family! No problem with anything. The owner arranged for us to rent a car at a good price, of course it is also possible to order a transfer from the airport. All trips and excursions can be arranged on site at very good prices. The hotel is less than a year old, it is very clean. You have two swimming pools and a sufficient number of sun loungers at your disposal. Spacious rooms with air conditioning. Simply family service. You don't have communication problems because both the owners Kasia and Chris, who are Polish, and the entire staff are multilingual. The hotel is located about 10 minutes' walk from the atmospheric beach. An alternative is to take bikes and about 3 km away you have one of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar and perhaps the whole of Africa, Muyuni Beach. The hotel can be a good base for exploring Zanzibar. The owner will not only be happy to arrange trips for you, but he will also be happy to tell you about life in Zanzibar. He took me to the village for shopping and showed me the so-called local atmosphere around Matemwe. A separate issue is Kasia's kingdom, i.e. the kitchen... People! It's worth going there just for the wonders they serve there! When traveling around the world, I avoid hotel food. In this case it was quite the opposite. If you like seafood, you are in paradise. Fish, shrimps, squid, lobsters and octopus are served at the level of the best restaurants. And if you feel like having a cutlet, Kasia will easily conjure it up for you. There is no problem with fulfilling individual wishes outside the card. My son missed tomato soup and Aunt Kasia conjured it up an hour later! Fantastic food is the added value of this place. At the end of the world we found a hotel where each of us felt good. You have a well-stocked bar and the best mojito I've ever had at your disposal. In the evenings, the hotel organizes live music and Maasai performances. The kids will have fun in the swimming pools. The hotel owners put not only professionalism but, above all, heart into running this magical place. Was there anything I didn't like? Yes. The fact that we only spent 10 days there! There are not many places like this in the world, so we will definitely...
Read moreThe hotel is basically new and well-maintained. Rooms are very big and beds comfortable. Water in the bathroom is salty – didn’t experience that in another hotel we stayed in. Pools and jacuzzi on the top are big and clean. Breakfast is very big and quite tasty. Typically you get: eggs (upon your choice), basket of bakery products (toasts, pancakes, waffles, and cake), some spreads, a huge plate of fruits, coffee, water, fresh juice. Restaurant is much more expensive than local restaurants in the city but the food is tasty. The hotel is not on the beach but 800m (not 250) walk takes you to nearby small beach where you are entitled to use sunbeds of the Sunshine Bay hotel located there, and you are obviously welcome to buy drinks or food in their bar. We thought that we won’t like it compared to other huge Zanzibar beaches, but it turned out that we liked it a lot. They have free bikes so you can visit the nearby area on your own. Before you take one you should check the condition though as some of them are in terrible condition and may be dangerous to use (based on our own experience which ended with a minor leg cut). Hotel staff seems to be a bit lost in their responsibilities and there is definitely a communication problem between them and management which leads to multiple misunderstandings with guests. They obviously have a power generator so in case of quite common power grid failure they have it covered. I would definitely not recommend booking tours through them as we had a weird situation related with amount to be paid for a joint trip with another guest using one taxi which left me with an unpleasant feeling that we were cheated in this scope. I was not main person discussing this problem with them but the final front-desk price justification was so stupid that it insulted my common reasoning. In conclusion, if you don’t care about having a hotel directly on the beach then with all pros and cons I think Haber is a good choice within this...
Read moreThis has been our favourite hotel so far, so much so we extended our stay for another day and choose to loose the money we paid for our hotel we had already booked for the 31st! But it was really worth it, the owners are a lovely couple that made sure everything was running smoothly Emmanuel the receptionist was so accommodating and helpful! They also arranged a bus for 20 of us to go the the main NYE event on The island ‘the full moon party at Kendwa Rocks’! The rooms are beautiful they are really well done, with a lounge and bedroom split and balcony overlooking then pool, really nice facilities, the hotel is named after the owners dog, who you will see chilling at the hotel. We also had access to the sunset beach which we just had to walk 5minutes to which is part of sunset hotel, there is an agreement between the hotels to use there facilities, so you can also use sunsets pools and sun beds which was nice, on sunset beach there were loads or tour guys that can organise spontaneous boat trips to snorkel which is great if you have not booked it in the the hotel… They have a roof terrace where we enjoyed a feast every morning and dinner every night! They have food was always fantastic and abundant, and they cooked substitutes for my to accommodate my allergies to gluten and dairy so I could also enjoy crepes and toast, eggy bread, it was heaven, for NYE we enjoyed an amazing seafood platter, before all boarding the bus and going to the party. Honestly we were so happy to stay here it has been amazing and would highly recommend...
