Arrived on day 1 and was hit with a $100 city tax, ($5 per night per person) the hotel did not communicate this cost to the airline or booking .com until recently (so I hear).

If you aren’t all inclusive don’t bother eating here, dinner will cost you $15 a pop for food that you can get for $8-10 down the road in kiwengwa.

This pains me to write as the people were great but the management/owners have to make some serious improvements.

No menus for dinner, misleading location (nowhere near the beach with awkward shuttle times) that will take you to kiwengwa beach and can’t keep up with their bills (TV didn’t work). Not to mention the intercom didn’t work! Cheapskates or what. The toilet flush worked intermittently, quite embarrassing when you’re with your partner and having to pour water down the basin

We had a private pool but couldn’t swim in it once because after the morning clean, ants and leaves would fall in it. That was a $600 upgrade by the way!

I forked our extra money and stayed at another spot just to compare and it was night and day difference.

The people and the amount I paid are what kept me there but it was bittersweet.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, in a prime location that’s quiet then I would suggest looking elsewhere. I am surprised they are partnered with airlines.

I hope this place turns things around otherwise they’ll lose their good staff to other resorts. That being said, I have to reiterate the younger staff went above and beyond to do what they could (in their capacity) I’m sure they battled bureaucracy behind closed doors.

The hotel is under new ownership so please don’t look at reviews 6 months old look...

This hotel is one of the most beautiful I have ever stayed in. The 2 bedroom Villa had an Arabic design to it with two capacious bedrooms both en suite. The villa also included a private swimming pool which was well maintained and boasted breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. It was incredible to watch the full moon rise over the horizon and reflect on the calm sea. The food in this hotel was delicious and we ate everything served at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel obtains a large swimming pool for all guests and quick access to a private beach. I would highly recommend wearing waterproof shoes when entering this beach because the beach has sharp coral and sea urchins. However if guests want to visit the public beach of Kiwenga Zanzibar the hotel offers a free shuttle service to the public beach. Guests can even lay out on the recliners at a selected restaurant on the beach . The beach has activities such as snorkelling , kite surfing and jet ski hiring . The hotel is very helpful with organising tours however they do not always take credit card payment methods but the shuttle service will drive you to the nearest 24/7 ATM to draw local Tanzanian Shillings which is accepted as a payment method but you will need to keep the shillings in a bag because of the high exchange rate. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel when...

We have just arrived and we regret big time we did wasted the 💰

There is Nothing good about this hotel.

Overpriced. Location very far from everything, you will spend a fortune of money and time on daily basis to drive somwhere else. No restaurants around, only hotel menue which is quite limited in options.

Upon check in there was very loud music next to the pool but it was so loud that we could hear it in our room as well. When we asked whats going on, respond was Pool Rented Out For Privte Party. What?? Private party in the hotel guests are paying a lot of money to chill and have a piece. Afterwards went for dinner, music still going on...loud...cant hear waiter in the restaurant, had to shout to place my order for dinner. Wanted to go to the bar on the roof top but it was also rented out for some private event.

This is insane!!!!!

Dear future guests, kindly dont trust the photos on booking as unfortunately only the view is nice.

moreover no beach ...rocks everywhere...

pool occupied by private party, no beach, and what else can you do here???

NOTHING

The worst place!

And the cherry on the cake is YOU CAN'T RETURN THE MONEY YOU PAID FOR BOOKING...and the reson behind :you just want to run away from this place from the minute you arrive...that what happend to us!!!

Never AGAIN

the worst...

This is a great property with amazing and very friendly staff. The rooms are huge and the welcome to this wonderful resort was very warm. All of the people who work here are exceptionally friendly and a special mention to Patrick and Mr. Debu (chef) who make you feel at home even on a holiday. The rooms are bigger than any room on Kiwenge beach and the private swimming pool was recleaned for our use immediately upon our arrival. The map did not show the correct location but we tried to recommend the correct location on Google, hope this helps other fellow travellers and tourists. There are many rooftop terraces to chill that have a stunning view and the beach can be accessed by shuttle service that are provided by the resort at free of cost twice a day, also the beach can be accessed by foot during low tides. Please do not go by the negative reviews, we were quite reluctant but were happy with our decision to come here.

I strongly advise against staying at Moja Tuu Luxury Villas & Nature Retreat. The hotel is nothing like what is advertised—it’s practically abandoned and in a state of neglect. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the pictures online were completely misleading. The place was empty, with no other tourists, making it feel unsafe and isolated. The conditions were far from "luxury"—dirty bedsheets, stained walls, broken furniture, and a swamp instead of a beach. The entire property looks like it hasn't been maintained in years. To make matters worse, no proper assistance was provided when I raised complaints. Despite paying for a 5-star all-inclusive stay, I had to find another hotel on my own because the conditions were unbearable. If you are looking for a relaxing and comfortable vacation, avoid this place at all costs. It is nowhere near the luxury experience it claims to offer.
