Enjoy mountain views, touch the sky, and see the mist at "Chantra Khiri Chalet Chiang Mai," a place where you can admire Doi Pui all day long!|This trip is up to the Hang Dong district to enjoy the breeze and take in the view for a bit. We're staying for 3 nights at Chantra Khiri Chalet Chiang Mai, which is decorated in a Lanna Modern Colonial style. We chose to stay in the Deluxe Suite, located on the ground floor of the resort. The room is large and well-proportioned, with a living area and a sofa that's not just for sitting, but for sleeping on too! With a minibar, drinking water, a hot water maker, and a refrigerator.||There's a classic desk to work at, a nice spot to take photos, and even lounge chairs for watching TV comfortably.|Large bed with two pillows each, along with a wardrobe, bathrobe, and slippers inside the bedroom.|The bathroom has separate shower and toilet areas. It comes fully equipped with amenities, including soap, shampoo, and lotion from the PANPURI brand.||Or anyone who wants to stay in a Studio Double bedroom, which is clean, beautifully decorated, surrounded by marble, has separate single beds for 2 people, and a clean bathroom with complete amenities.||Last night, the Chantra Suite room was available. The rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors offer an elevated view of the mountains and nature, providing a full panorama of Doi Pui. During our stay, it rained, and we saw fog every morning and evening. The atmosphere was excellent.|Staying at Chantra Khiri Chalet in Chiang Mai, you can stroll around and take beautiful photos from every angle. They also have a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by gardens where you can relax and take a dip.|And not to be missed is the Na Jantra restaurant, which has been guaranteed deliciousness with the Michelin Guide award for 5 consecutive years, up to the latest #MichelinGuide 2025 award. I can tell you that many dishes have won different awards each year.|This year's winner is Fish Basil Rice for 240 baht. Richly seasoned stir-fried basil rice topped with deboned mackerel, fragrant with the subtle aroma of young basil leaves, served with side dishes like chilies, shallots, lime, and long beans, which the chef prepared using a technique to prevent the beans from tasting grassy and maintain their vibrant color and appetizing appearance.|Stir-fried catfish with ginger and chili, 270 baht. Crispy catfish with ginger and chili paste, stir-fried until fluffy, is very enjoyable to eat.|Miang Moo Sab 270 THB A large plate of Miang, with fragrant stir-fried minced pork seasoned with soy sauce, served with rice noodles and fresh vegetables for added refreshment. It comes with two dipping sauces.|Stir-fried rice noodles with water mimosa 270 baht The rice noodles stir-fried with water mimosa were rich and didn't need any extra seasoning. They had a subtle tamarind sauce flavor, bouncy fresh shrimp, and tender water mimosa shoots.|Grilled pork with betel leaves 180 baht. The pork is marinated until fragrant, the flavor is well-balanced, wrapped in betel leaves, and grilled. Let me tell you, it's absolutely delicious!|Sweet pork ribs 270 baht. Slow-cooked pork ribs served in a rich, simmering sauce. The ribs are tender and juicy, and the flavor is perfectly balanced by the chili sauce and steamed rice. Absolutely delicious!||Breakfast is served as a set, with options including pan-fried eggs, American breakfast, or pork congee. Each set comes with salad, fruit, bread, yogurt, fresh coffee, tea, or hot/cold cocoa. I have to say, the latte art here is absolutely beautiful!|For those looking for new accommodation close to nature without going all the way up to the mountains, "Chantra Khiri Chalet Chiang Mai" is another place worth visiting for a relaxing stay. The accommodation is beautifully decorated with a unique style, and the Thai food is Michelin-level delicious for 5 consecutive years. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere close to nature allows you to experience a truly fulfilling vacation. You could say it was an extremely enjoyable and satisfying trip. Before checking out, we ended with an Afternoon Tea set from the resort, priced at 699 baht per set. Per set, it can be shared by 2 people. The set includes 3 flavors of macarons, sandwiches, fried spring rolls, golden bags, pancakes, rich chocolate brownies, and fragrant hot tea.|Benefits for guests staying at the "Chantra Khiri Chalet Chiang Mai" resort.|- The restaurant at Chantra received a Michelin star and offers a 10% discount to hotel guests.|- Promotion for pet lovers, but only applicable for villa room types.|- For couples who want to have a pre-wedding photoshoot, we offer location rental services.|- Airport pick-up and drop-off service is available for a fee.|Let's go! I had an incredibly disappointing stay at this hotel and feel compelled to share my experience.

First, the basic amenities were either missing or of poor quality. There was no iron available, and the room was far from clean. There was hair and dandruff on the red sofa, mold and algae in the toilet corners, and a stained bedsheet. The towels weren't much different from rags , with the edges tattered and torn. The slippers were filthy with stains, and the carpet had not been vacuumed at all. When one of the front desk staff requested room service to clean our room with a vacuum, the cleaner actually argued with her in front of us and was unwilling to do it.

Another major issue was the lack of a promised golf cart to pick us up. Despite calling 10 times, no one answered, and we were left to carry all of our luggage ourselves up to the lobby, which was an uphill task given the hotel's hilly terrain.

To make matters worse, during check-in, the staff made a huge mistake by assigning other guests to our booked room— the only room left. There was no proper verification of guest names, and they mixed up a Chinese (two-syllable) name with a Christian name! How can a hotel fail to check passports before assigning a room?

We were forced to wait almost an hour to check in due to their mistake, causing us to miss our sunset plans. The staff only offered an insincere “sorry,” and when we requested to speak with a manager, he was equally unhelpful. The only compensation offered was 1,500 THB for their Michelin restaurant, which hardly felt like a fair resolution. The food was a letdown as well. I ordered a deep-fried roti with banana, and they accidentally used salt instead of sugar icing. It was incredibly salty, and I'm still unsure if this was an honest mistake or something done on purpose.

The Wi-Fi was non-existent during our stay. When we called the manager (who seemed to be having a jolly time based on the background sounds), his explanation was that the entire hotel had this problem. He assured someone would come to our room to check the issue, but of course, no one ever showed up. It was all talk and no action.

The next morning, when we turned on the tap, only muddy yellow water came out, leaving us unable to wash up. When we went to have breakfast, no staff approached us or offered any service. We had to ask the staff what was available. However, when a Caucasian family arrived later, the staff were quick to prepare their table and provide menus. This was an obvious display of preferential treatment. To top it all off, my wife found a piece of plastic packaging from the cheese slice in her omelette.

Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I definitely won’t be returning. There were multiple issues with service, cleanliness, and management, making this stay both frustrating and far from enjoyable. It was a nightmare experience that ruined my wedding anniversary trip to the beautiful region of Chiang Mai. If the owner ever reads this, please train your manager and staff better, as their lack of professionalism was clear in every aspect...

For city dwellers looking to unwind from the hustle and bustle, don't hesitate to get the slightly pricer mountain view suites - it is well worth the money! The Chantra suite was amazing (photos just don't do it enough justice). Very spacious, had a big bathtub, huge mirrors and balcony with a view to die for. ||||Do note, however, that this place is truly VERY out of town with no grab service. There is quite literally no where you can walk to (aside from within the compound), so you are kinda 'stuck' in the resort - even for food you'll have to get from their (really good) restaurant. So this is not for those who want to explore the old town, temple hop or do shopping. BUT, this is absolutely perfect for that getaway where you do nothing but read, listen to music and well... waste the day away just staring at the mountains and clouds. ||||Food is really good too, get the staff to recommend and you'll never go wrong! View of the restaurant is great and if you are lucky, you'll be in the company of two very gentle dogs. ||||Some very minor room for improvement would be cleanliness, language and service... I guess. Don't get me wrong, these are already at a 7 point grade, but it could be much better! For cleanliness, floor was clean but high dusting was not done, so you see webs on the lights and stuff, curtains were dusty too. Place is also in need of some repainting/maintenance - some very obvious cracks could be seen on the walls. ||||Language wise, one or two staff could do basic English, but it would seem they are not as used to foreign tourists as the hotels in the city centre. But even so, they were always very friendly and smiling :) ||||Service was pretty good - they had a buggy to take you around, staff were always willing to help if you approached them and they even offered me a take away box when i had to check out early in the morning! Thank you! What i thought would sweeten the deal even more is if they could offer more snacks, fruits and drinks in the room - they provide the basics but to be 'stuck' in this place with no convenience store nearby, i think it would be great if we had more options beyond instant coffee, coke and a few pieces of cookies to last the whole stay. ||||But all in all, this was a great place to stay. Pricey? Yes. But the view and serenity of the place is just so, so calming and rejuvenating. I would certainly come back!||||*P.S. I stayed in Sep during the monsoon season. It would seem this is a lull period so there aren't many guests. I only saw one other group of guests in my...

Close to Nature while bathing in comfort. This is one of the best combination of luxury stay and being close to nature. The hotel is sitting on a hillside with beautiful mountain view and tastefully decorate with owner's collection of antique / art work. The furnish & finished of the hotel shows great love / care by the owner / designer. Bed is comfortable (on the soft side), the hot water / water pressure / bath amenities (the hotel use Panpuri) are on par with any 5-6 stars hotel. If you book early and get to stay on the 3rd floor, you can enjoy full mountain view from your own room. Room 18 has the best view / room setting with 2 large outdoor seating area and a bath. The food are also very good but on salty side. However, service is a mixed bag. The Evening Restaurant service was good but Reception was just ok (she just want to get her job done without guiding us through). The real issue for us lies with the service at the breakfast. We stayed for 2 nights and on the 1st day it was a full buffet. On the 2nd there was only porridge, bread and some fruit with no eggs station, ham or sausage like the 1st day. So i asked the waitress about it and she told me that's all we get. Then i saw other table was getting American breakfast from the kitchen so i told her i'll pay for it. She came back and said that we can choose 1 of breakfast set each on the menu (complimentary). If only she told us at the beginning this would not have been no issue. Note : The hotel is on the hillside so getting around up to the 3rd floor can be a challenge for elderly. My mum is 73 and manage fine with some help. This place is pet friendly and 2 of the Owner's dogs may look intimidating but they are very friendly and very well behave.

Our stay at Chantra Khiri Chalet was truly unforgettable — a peaceful escape tucked into the lush, quiet hills of Chiang Mai. From the moment we arrived, we were embraced by the serene atmosphere and surrounded by nature in every direction. It felt like we had found our own hidden paradise. We stayed in a beautiful 2-bedroom villa that instantly felt like home. It was incredibly cozy and thoughtfully designed, with 2 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a warm and inviting living room, and an outdoor kitchen that opened up to a huge patio overlooking nature. Waking up in such a peaceful setting and hearing only the sounds of birds and trees was the kind of calm we didn’t know we needed. The staff was amazing — genuinely kind, polite, and always going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Every detail was cared for with intention. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the Michelin-recommended dining experience. The food was outstanding — a perfect blend of elegance and local flavor. Every bite felt like a celebration of Thai cuisine. And the breakfast? Just wow. Waking up to a huge, fresh breakfast and enjoying it slowly with my husband on the quiet patio, surrounded by nature — that memory will stay with us for a long time. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat in Chiang Mai that combines luxury, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality, Chantra Khiri Chalet is truly one of a kind. We left feeling recharged, inspired, and so grateful for the experience. Can’t wait to return. 💛
