there are so many bad things to say about this place i don’t even know where to start. this was the first time in 4 months traveling in asia where i wasn’t allowed to change or cancel my reservation which forced me to stay way longer in the island since i didn’t want to lose my money.
i checked in the bungalow around noon and was greeted by the owner who told me and my boyfriend that a guy was staying in our bedroom because his old room was infested with ants and he couldn’t sleep at night. this person was nowhere to be found and had all of his things in our room and she didn’t know what happened or what time he was going back. before that she tried to arrange for her siblings to pick us up at the bungalow and drop us off at a different hotel saying they would bring us back the next day which i did not want to do and made me feel very uncomfortable. she said she would only refund me for the two extra days i paid for by “sending money to my bank account” and that she was going to “take care of us” the first day (although i was paying for it) and that i would only prob get the money after a few days -after i left the island. i mentioned i would contact booking to get a full refund, since we were unable to check in our room, and she said that their policy would only give me 50% of what i paid back and that i was better off resolving everything with her. i tried to be understanding of the situation and said that we didn’t want to go to their family’s place or stay in the room infested by ants which was also offered by her “for free” the one previously occupied by the person who moved to our room- but that i didn’t mind waiting until he got back no matter how late it was (8pm). we finally got into the bedroom and our experience was terrible. first, this is the worst possible location you can stay in koh chang with the worst accommodations and also an awkward vibe and crowd (please stay near lonely beach or white sand beach-that are both very beautiful beaches and near everything) and omg soooooo far away from EVERYTHING. we rented a scooter for 7 days because of that.
2.the bed was SO uncomfortable and sooooo painfully hard it was impossible to sleep.
there were a LOT of ants all over our room although we didn’t have food or eat anything in the bungalow.
there were roosters all over the property that started crowling as early as 5am for hours until early in the afternoon (and same thing every day).
shower drain was so clogged that the whole bathroom was full of the products we used to shower (shampoo soap etc). so very disgusting.
lastly, when i asked the owner if the same siblings could drop us off at our new hotel today (as a little favor for the inconvenience of not having our room ready for 8+ plus hours and how bad the place was) she told us to “call a taxi” because they were busy.
there are better places to stay in this island and more kind and hospitable owners. i would not recommend anyone...
Read moreMr. T is a very nice and relaxed guy with a small and simple music hut on the beach which he runs as a family business. His sons and friends sometimes play guitar in the evening (mostly the both great Bobs - Dylan and Marley and stuff like that) and you can book cheap boat trips to the nearby islands - his wife who is also a good singer takes care of that. The place is not so crowded, a good place to have a beer or a cocktail right by the...
