We loved the quiet vibe tucked half way along the bay. It has a small restaurant with linen table cloths, orchids and well presented food. Delicious! There is a small bar for drinks. Guests have priority for reservations. The large tamarisk tree marks it spot under which there are ample deck chairs for sun seekers. Comfortable Wooden reclining loungers give perfect views of the beach a few metres away at high tide. They have umbrellas for shade. The pool nestles between rooms and is ample for a cool dip. The bay has one tide a day; in January the high tide lasted until noon for swimming before it receded leaving a wide, shallow bay great for walking or children to safely play in. Staff are welcoming. This place will appeal to those seeking solace away from loud music and corporate hotels. The rooms have typical Thai roofs with vaulted ceilings. They are small but perfectly sized and the shower water was consistently hot. A drying rack outside was useful. We loved the mosquito guard which allowed ample fresh air to circulate in the bathroom alongside the main air conditioner. The rooms were cleaned daily and staff ensured the communal areas were cleaned too. Breakfast provided set menu options; all included a fruit plate and tea or coffee. We ate omelettes, yoghurt and muesli and pancake options. You can purchase extra items to the set menus. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. The rooms are part of a larger Blue Haven resort area so security is high with guards. There is a small local village a short walk away for provisions or local restaurants as well as the 3 on the bay and one inland within the resort area. We ate at all venues and would revisit all of them. |We would recommend this place and stay again. We thought it was good value for money. We didn’t use the spa for massage since I’d already booked up the bay but prices were competitive. Beds were firm but comfortable for us; 1 pillow was provided. ||Even better if: |We found the WiFi inconsistent for those that want to stay connected and the shower strength could be stronger. Given that it’s island life we accept both of these minor points. |The filter coffee at breakfast was weaker and cooler than ideal; pay options include a range of coffee types but these were too cool for our liking. Despite this we loved the personal service...
Read moreThe location is a very short ride from the ferry port. We had a deluxe double room with a balcony and it was beautiful. Lovely, comfortable bed, ample storage, tv, fridge, black out blinds, lovely bathroom. Aircon and ceiling fan. Balcony had a clother airer and also furniture to sit out and watch the beautiful sunsets.||There were 2 pools we could use, one smaller which never had anyone else in it and huge one that was owned by another next-door resort, but we never used that. You don't need to when you have such a beautiful beach and clear sea in front of you.||The hotel supplies sun loungers on the lawn area and deckchairs on the beach. The staff are super friendly and often brought out free drinks and snacks in the afternoons. It's a very personal service.||We had breakfast included and sometimes had lunch and dinner, all of which were good.||The hotel supplies free kayaks and paddleboards, though one of the guests told us this. That's one thing the hotel staff could do a little better - provide information about the facilities on offer and also about the island, trips etc.||As the hotel is a little way from the main tourist areas of Koh Chang (White Sands Beach etc), you have to take taxis which are very expensive, or we ended up hiring a scooter which was so much cheaper, but then you have to have your wits about you. It's an extremely hilly journey west out of the hotel to get to the more tourist areas and not for the faint hearted. The hotel helped us arrange the scooter hire.||Koh Chang itself is beautiful. We visited lovely beaches (e.g. White Sands and Lonely), saw monkeys and elephants and people are incredibly friendly. I also went snorkeling to the National Park, which was just incredible. I've been fortunate enough to go to the Maldives a few times, but have never seen coral as alive and beautiful as I saw off Koh Chang. ...
Read moreThis is part of an estate with many private villas and rentals so didn’t think it was our thing to start with. |Villas are huge, really lovely rooms and a great bed. They also have a nice kitchen area. Big bathroom with hot shower. We had our own plunge pool which was amazing and bigger and deeper than we expected. |Hotel food is excellent just a little bit more expensive than outside places. Their Thai dishes are much better than their western choices. They ran out of white wine when we there, don’t know why they didn’t open bottles they would have made a fortune. |Breakfast is outstanding, choice from various set menus- tried them all. All come with a fruit plate, all delicious. |Housekeeping is excellent, loads of toiletries, coffee etc. |The staff at this resort are so very friendly (except for the grumpy young guy at the bar) a special shout out to Pha who looked after us so well. |Sometimes they bring afternoon treats at the pool of fresh juice/water and wontons.|This hotel is remote although you can walk along to the nearby village (a 25 min walk) I would definitely recommend eating at the local Thai place in the grounds near the entry gate- Montee- food was brilliant in there and so cheap. The hotel don’t provide much info about the area or Ko Chang and there was no info re taxis etc. perhaps something they could improve on. |Would defo go back, beautiful quiet place for a...
