We loved our room on the second floor of The Boathouse; themed, spacious, airy and a balcony to watch the raptors and swallows soaring. A large portable fan complimented the air conditioning (if required) The complimentary water was plentiful and the daily cleaning left the room beautifully clean. Beach and bath towels were of good quality. Hair conditioner was a bonus! The shower was consistently hot. The bed was very comfortable with two pillows of different softness. Lek was very helpful with pre arrival queries. We would stay again! |We enjoyed the yoghurt, fruit and muesli breakfasts with an omelette to follow. All staff are attentive and welcoming. We enjoyed our Thai dinner one night; the menu for local dishes is more limited than other options in the area. |The infinity pool is perfect for swimming or gazing out towards the expansive beach and the vibe is very laid back with low music. The loungers are plentiful but have curved frames with bungee cord so they can’t be adjusted. Fewer people wander this far down the beach so the space is predominantly quiet. Natural shade is available. At low tide it’s a walk to the water which has a long shallow shelf. The bay is hugged beautifully by a peninsular each side creating a stunning setting. |The hotel is part of a larger Blue Haven complex so security is high with barriers and guards at vehicular entrances and well lit pathways to walk between the venues. It’s a short walk up the beach to other facilities or inland to the village. We did both. Our stay was very quiet and true to the descriptions and met our expectations. ||Even better if: |Some adjustable loungers were available |WiFi could be stronger for those that want to stay connected; it flickers constantly in eye-line throughout the night which may irritate some guests |Mosquito repellent was provided in the rooms and for the balcony ||Thank you to...
Read moreI came specifically for the Weight Loss retreat, in addition to the setting.
I have done 2 retreats in Thailand and both were wonderful but the one in Koh Chang at Shambhala was exceptional. I highly, highly recommend to anyone wanting to do a weight loss program.
I did full-body 360 liposuction in Florida and it cost me 11,000 USD. I did the doctor prescribed phentermine based diet. I did a workout-based fitness and weight loss retreat in Arizona that cost 3,000USD. And I did the 2 week weight loss retreat in Koh Samui that was lovely.
I would recommend Shambhala at Koh Chang above them all. It is the realest, most effective, most science-backed, and most long-term solution.
In terms of the resort, I would say that the entire Blue Haven area of Koh Chang is sort of the "Beverly Hills" of the island. All of the resorts in this region are high-end and beachfront, with expected amenities. The crowd is who you'd like to see around when on vacation - quiet, peaceful, and friendly folks who mostly keep to themselves but are open to friendly banter if you wish. Probably one of the best spots in Thailand to vacation in my...
Read moreWe had an amazing time at Shambhala Resort in Koh Chang. The property is truly massive, which gave us plenty of space to enjoy the different amenities: there’s a gym, beautiful pool, a cozy bar, and a very nice restaurant.
Our room was incredibly comfortable, with a private bathroom, a well-stocked minibar, and everything we needed to relax. One of the highlights of our stay was breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, where we had the chance to enjoy a self-grill experience, cooking our own meat at the table, which was both fun and delicious!
Another thing we really loved was the location. The hotel is just across from the beach (only a two-minute walk) and most of the time, we had it all to ourselves. It felt like a hidden gem.
From check-in to check-out, everything was perfectly smooth. The organization was top-notch and made the whole experience feel easy and relaxing. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a...
