Overall, we liked Koh Kood Beach Resort. The sea is beautiful, when the weather is good, and life peaceful - perfect for overworked travellers, who live in overcrowded cities.

As there is not much to do on the island apart from snorkeling (there isn't even a 7eleven! only non air con shops), KKBR lends for free - kayaks, snorkels, DVD's, beach volley, some beach toys, and mountain bikes (beware of dogs on the road!). You can also enjoy inexpensive massage in the beach hut, rent a motorbike or go on a boat tour.

Restaurant is good (provided lack of choice anyway to eat outside).

We Thank the personnel who always answered our requests with a smile, Faa, Indie and others were kind to our child.

But for us, city folk with a 3 year-old kid, one point really spoils the whole experience - insects! EVERYWHERE! ALL SORTS! I understand the island's claim to be close to nature, but hotels could at least provide choice to customers who don't want to take showers under open sky * (romantic, but so impractical) with mousquitos or flooded floors (frequent rains May-Oct), providing walls without cracks where termites lay eggs and geckos feast loudly at night, pave and better light up the walkways to avoid snake and scorpion surprises.. For 110 euros I expect to have a comfortable stay and not have nightmares about the crawling spiders! Room/beach service would be a plus.

Dear Management, I was also very upset about the lack of water and waste treatment. The hole in the floor of the shower - means all the shampoos, cleaning detergents go in the soil and into the sea! The fish and corals are affected! Often Thais blame tourists for the sea pollution, but the truth is you don't take good care of your valuable resources!

N.B. the open shower seems a common practive even at luxurious Koh Kood hotels, as I read, Kiri at 3000 Euros!! So mosquito...

We spent three nights at the Koh kood beach resort and it was a beautiful experience. The island was absolutely incredible, and the resort was beautiful, with amazing welcoming and helpful staff. The resort is small and intimate despite the large grounds, and a big more rustic feeling than the large impersonal feeling of the resort (although it was also nice, just different vibe) we had just spent time at on Koh Chang. The grounds were stunning and exceptionally well maintained, and the bungalows were cozy and clean. The outdoor bathrooms were a very nice touch. The fact that they didn’t pack as many bungalows as they could onto the property really added to the experience. The food at the restaurant was very good, although at typical higher resort prices (everything is a bit more expensive on Koh kood due to its remote location), and the free breakfast was good as far as included breakfasts go, and featured omelets and scrambled eggs with toppings made to order. I think they may also have offered this for some drinks. The small but beautiful beach features some coral reef with lots of beautiful fish literally a few meters from shore and was great for snorkeling. They also have kayaks which I wish I’d taken advantage of to explore the little cove with shops and guesthouses on an elevated network of boardwalks just on the other side of the resort property. The whole island experience was one of the best I’ve had, and the welcoming staff and relaxing atmosphere of the resort just made it that much better. A well maintained motorbike rented at the resort was the perfect way to explore the beautiful waterfalls and beaches on the island. I highly recommend Koh Kood beach resort and hope to...

Koh Kood Beach Resort provided us with a fantastic stay!

The Good The Staff are AMAZING! We have not been to a hotel in Thailand were the staff is so friendly and helpful. This means all staff no matter who we met or approached. Thank you for this! pick up from Pier or Hotel is offered and the service was on-time and friendly. good motor scooter rental offered directly with an average price of 250/day. great breakfast! a good mix between Thai and Western and they offer coffee all day long. free kayak and nice lounges down by the beach great place for sunset views in the lovely infinity pool Bungalows are sooo nice! lots of room and we loved walking up to those palm tree views. outside bathroom was a hit! we love things snorkeling right at your feet! very clean rooms and quick and fast house keeping. Back row bungalow provides the most privacy although you hear street noise but that stops latest at midnight.

Could be better If you are the type of person that wants to explore the island and do not feel comfortable on a scooter you are pretty stuck. The beach compared to the sandy beach down in the south will be a disappointment as there are many rocks. We however enjoyed the snorkeling here. Dinner could go a little longer but we do understand that since you are not busy late in evening it makes no sense to have staff sit...

This is a lovely resort located right by the ocean. The staff is superb, so kind and they remember you! Golf (probably not spelling this right, but that is how he described his name) is wonderful and makes excellent smoothies and drinks! The food is absolutely delicious. Everything we had was amazing! The rooms are clean and spacious, and the outdoor bathrooms are so cool! You can use a kayak and snorkeling gear for free or rent a motor scooter for the day for 250 bhat. A few things to be aware of - this is a child friendly resort and there were a lot of families with young kids during our stay here. As a youngish couple without kids, it was a little hard to relax at the pool and drink with all the kiddies splashing about, so keep that in mind if you are looking for something more adult focused. Also, there is a small sandy beach cove specific to the resort but you don’t really have a large sandy beach available to you. It’s primarily rocks along the coastline in front of the resort. There is a larger sand beach at the resort next door so we walked over the rocks to that section when we wanted to swim in the ocean, but of course you can’t really put down towels or sit on the beach since it’s for the guests at the resort next door. All in all we had a lovely stay, great for families!
