We are a couple in our 50's and we found this place while touring the island on our moped. We liked it that much that we extended our stay on Koh Mak to stay at the Sabai Beach Resort. The rooms are basic but what more do you need? there was a fridge and AC with a good shower and toilet. The Bungalow we had looked out on to the beach with beach access. It is not crowded and the staff were very helpful and spoke very good English. The breakfast and meals were lovely and what you would expect. The beach is wonderful with hardly anyone on it. The hotel does not have a pool but you are right on the beach so it really doesn't matter. the Bed is very firm but what you would expect in Thailand. it is close to a number of restaurants but it is not a big island so very quiet and relaxed. A small resort with simple, clean and comfortable rooms. It is right off from the main road in the main resort area. So you can just walk around to find places for coffer or eat. You can also rent a motorbike from them so that you can visit the entire island, as there is no public transportation on the island. It has its own restaurant which serves mainly Indian food when I was there. The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The beach in front of the resort is quiet and clean, fine sand and shallow, suitable for swimming. You can also rent a kayak from them to visit the near by tiny islands which are just 10 to 20 minutes away. It is a place to get away from it all, to truly enjoy a peaceful and relaxing time...
