Pros Staying in BABA Ecolodge is an amazing EXPERIENCE. Every house is unique, we had a pleasure to stay in the „Sea Blue 1” for 5 days - together with my fiancée. The hut was truly beautiful. Very comfortable bed, a lot of space in wardrobes, bathroom outside in the open air and the balcony with the best sea view that you can imagine! The whole resort is basically in the jungle and you can admire the beauty of nature on every step. Restaurant is in the stylish colognal building and the breakfast served is truly exceptional. The beach is very long with a golden sand, you can see a few kilometers of it with literally no people for the most of the time. There’s also a bay with a beach bar, beach loungers, water equipment and calmer water with smaller waves. There’s an option to take a kayak and have a trip into a mangrove canal for about 30 min one way, which was very nice as we love kayaking and the surroundings was really exotic. All the staff in the resort is really nice and helpful. The manager Theresa was very kind and responsive prior to our arrival, during the check-in she gave us a long explanation about the resort and the welcome tour to show everything. Also, you can find a very comprehensive guide in your apartment, with a lot of useful information and describing the mission of the resort. There’s a small library that you can use and borrow a book - several languages available. Last but not least, I took 90 min Thai massage (1,400 THB), that was probably the best massage that I’ve ever had, not only during this 3-weeks trip, but in my entire life (and I had probably something like 100+ of them). After the 1st one I immediately booked another for two days later.

„Cons” Disclaimer: those wasn’t issues for us, but I listed a few things to consider when booking such an experience. This is an exotic island, so there are some things related to it, obviously: you can encounter animals; not only beautiful birds, curious monkeys or a resorts’ cats and dogs, but also bats, lizards and we had in the room 3-4 times cockroaches (they are totally harmless and not present because of filth, but just because you are in the jungle); there are some mosquitoes and sand flies, but for 5 days we were bitten just a few times, it was no bother for us at all; there’s no AC in the room, but fans, which were definitely enough; the wifi (good one) is available in the reception only, not in rooms and there’s almost no reception on the island (also not a big deal). Basically the only option to get to the island is to take a long boat transport arranged by the resort, which is 2,100 THB one way. Personally I would prefer to pay a little bit more for the booking and get the boat transport included than book not so cheap hotel and then realize that there’s additional 4,200 THB that I need to reserve for the transfer. The food in restaurant is very delicious but a bit more expensive that average in Thailand. On the other hand everything is prepared from the local and organic ingredients so it’s understandable. The outdoor bathroom was great, only downside was the shower height - it had about 170 cm and no regulation so it was a bit uncomfortable for use.

Summary I highly recommend this resort, it’s unforgettable experience on an exotic island and you can feel like...

Baba eco lodge is a great balance of luxury and eco. We were travelling with 2 young children under 4 and we knew we’d probably be some of the more demanding guests in terms of making sure the kids needs were met. The team were amazingly helpful, polite, and patient with us before and during our stay. ||The accommodation is as you would expect from the photos. What may not be clear is how everything is kept so well and clean and tidy too. There were more creature comforts than we expected with beach towels, beach bag, toiletries, water and kettle etc. The bed and pillows were really comfy and it was reassuring to find mosquito nets that fitted perfectly and were not broken at all. Although we didn’t encounter that many insects at night really.||The restaurant and food was lovely. With our young kids we were worried and honestly they did want some of their comfort foods after a while, but regardless there was enough on the menu to keep them busy and the kids menu was varied enough for our 6n stay. The pizza on the beach was not the best but fine for a bit of a change when we didn’t want to walk to the restaurant for lunch. The staff at the restaurant were amazing. So patient, friendly, never annoyed with our many requests to accommodate toddler demands. Full disclosure - we did rely on our own stash of snacks, and took some of the breakfast items ‘take away’ for the kids ‘second breakfast’. Logistically that was the only way to keep up with toddler eating habits.||The beach at the front is great. As the staff promised, it was shady, safe, had the amenities like toilets, toys, the bar nearby. Yet felt undisturbed, natural and peaceful. Such a difficult balance to strike. There are hammocks, swings and a pagoda across a bridge that our 3.5yo loved. I also did yoga at the yoga spot and that was amazing. ||The resort is connected by one long sandy path, one end is the bar and the front beach, and yoga etc. Along that path are all the villas/ baan’s, then at the other is the restaurant , reception and massage venue. Plus more beach of course. Unfortunately that path is so sandy, it did feel like a pain to walk it. To be fair we were both carrying a child but it just got a bit tiresome trying to get through the deep sand for every meal or visit to the beach - basically 5-6+ times a day. The staff mentioned it to us as we left and we know they are considering doing something to make it easier to walk.||As we predicted we made quite a few demands of the team there, including changing rooms, requesting extra milk, changing flight times. Every request was happily met and we really...

Before I got there I went on BABA's Instagram and looked at the posts, the hashtag "experienceBABA" caught my attention and that's the best description of staying here. This place is an experience. After two days you forget that you were wearing shoes, forget about your phone and the internet. You take outdoor showers and experience nature, animals, this island. Very nice and friendly people there make your stay go smoothly. Honestly, I didn't find anything that could be a downside to this place. The included breakfasts are delicious, the rest of the dishes ordered from the restaurant are too. + sea blue 1 house has a beautiful view of the sea, but at night you will need earplugs because the waves breaking on the shore make a bit of noise + they have a library with books in different languages + there are a lot of additional activities on site However, this place impresses with its natural atmosphere and closeness to nature. I highly recommend it, preferably for as long as possible. -if someone doesn't like bugs, they must expect to meet them there because it is an ecological place that connects man with nature. Sometimes there was a cockroach in the room or a bigger lizard, but that is part of the charm of such a place

The experience was nice, I don’t like they They force to be made two nights. The transportation price is 2,000 thb (€50) per way. Important notice: Wi-Fi is not stable or secured. If you have to depend on it for your next reservation, better know beforehand. There is supposed to be Wi-Fi in the reception and restaurant areas but it can be very frustrating. I write my experience and give stars measuring the quality and price ratio, and of course for what we paid we will not return to this one, we would go to the other one nearby. Appreciate the hotel's welcome book in the room, explaining its eco and organic philosophy. Breakfast and food very good.
