This hotel’s café is closed after breakfast hours. No shops or recreational activities around the hotel. Fortunately, there are 2 other (equally desolate) hotels, 5-10 minutes’ walk way, which have restaurants that offer meal options to non-guests. Or, you can use food delivery apps to order food from elsewhere||2. Minimarts are about 20 to 25 minutes away on foot||3. Small road in front of the hotel is dimly lit at night and usually empty. A car or a motorbike would pass by between long intervals during daylight hours||4. The stretch of “beach” at this part of Krabi (Ao Nam Mao) is full of mangrove swamps – whatever tiny “beaches” you come across in this area tend to be dirty, never cleaned up and ugly (due to man-made trash or debris from nature) – you wouldn’t want to go near them at all||5. About 20 minutes’ walk to Ao Nam Mao Pier to catch long-tail boats to the more appealing Railay beach (1st boat leaves at 9 am with minimum of 8 passengers; otherwise charter the whole boat which will be expensive)||6. Almost ghost-like atmosphere at the disused children’s theme park next to the hotel (I'm surprised that the trees and plants are still well-maintained in the themepark)||7. I saw only a handful of hotel guests at Heaven View during my stay – mostly Thais. My guess is only about 20% of the rooms are occupied and not surprisingly, there’s only a minimal number of staff on site||8. The younger female receptionist, Sao is friendly and pleasant while the older lady is unapproachable and appears extremely disinterested in her job||9. Nobody is on duty at night except for a male staff who would occasionally sleep behind the reception counter - I don’t feel any sense of security in such an isolated hotel||10. Room is recently renovated and has attractive design elements. Bed is very comfortable. View from the highest balcony (6 floors in total) is terrific||11. There was a distinct cockroach odour coming from the wardrobe and tissue box though I didn’t see any during my stay. Overall, my room was reasonably clean (there’s no insect screen mesh so keeping the balcony and toilet windows shut does help to prevent flying insects from entering). Daily room cleaning is only done IF you request for it at the reception||12. There were many dead insects (they look like large ants with wings) lying on the floor of the hotel’s semi-al fresco café (offers breakfast only) in the mornings – thankfully, staff swept them away quickly||13. To sum it all, the biggest positive of this hotel is being able to enjoy the sounds of birds, surrounding greenery and the distant sea view without having to pay a hefty price. Other than this, there’s nothing else to keep tourists here for more than a day or two ||Personally, I felt rather uneasy and unsafe after dark in such an isolated, lifeless hotel with the barest of security and staff on duty. A pity as the rooms are so beautifully decorated and offer such...
Read moreThere is so much to love about this hotel. And it's mainly the quality of the rooms. They are huge with a really high quality finish. The bed was probably the most comfortable one I had slept on throughout Thailand. The rooms just have an air of quality and luxury about them. We had a room with direct pool access and it was perfect.
First thing in the morning just open the door and dip straight into the pool.
The staff are super helpful and really friendly. And it all adds up to a great experience.
For some... It's a little out of the way when it comes to getting to Ao-nang so you will definitely need your own transport. Otherwise you will be relying on grabs to get you from A to B.
We were offered breakfast that was a separate price any morning we wanted it. And tbh it was expensive for what we got. So we only did it that one morning.
The only other issue we had with the hotel and why it got 4 stars instead of 5 was not actually anything to do with the hotel directly, but it impacted our 5 night stay.
And that's barking dogs!! The hotel is next to a very unusual abandoned theme park. And that's now occupied by a pack of dogs. So every morning we were woke by barking dogs. It didn't last for long. But it was there. It's a real shame for the hotel because they are not their dogs. But it did impact our stay.
Overall the hotel, staff, and standard of the accommodation were amazing. We even enjoyed the location. And the view from the rooms is stunning. Hence why it has its name.
We would stay here again. And that's the main takeaway from...
Read moreEdited 22 Dec 2024 after the hotel replied. I have added a few pictures regarding why I understood that all rooms have a sea view. It does not say that we would get a room on a lower floor with a blocked view. I understood from the answer of the hotel that all rooms have a sea view and I also requested a room on the high floor. I even checked the hotel website "Deluxe room" has a sea view. Let all 3 new pics explain.
Original review: We are kind like stupid customers here. Just checked in and very disappointed with the view we got. Not like what we read the reviews about "Deluxe room". So we expected to get a nice view here more than other things. The reception just said that it was a problem made by "Agoda". I misunderstood about the view although I did some research and went through questions and reviews about this hotel. No one said earlier that a deluxe room might have this kind of view which might be blocked. The reception responded that if I booked through the hotel's own system, this would not happen! They would have sent the pictures of the room to the customers before checking in. I booked this room on 17th of December and just arrived today, 21st of December. The hotel had 3-4 days to let me know about this. As I also know how the reservation system works, I cannot accept that it is Agoda's own fault. The hotel needs to be more responsible for this. There is still one more night we will spend at this hotel. We have asked for another room which is the same type and will come back to review it...
