As you can see in the Q&A section of this listing, I was a bit worried about staying at the Lady M hostel on my latest trip to Thailand. But given its proximity to Survarnarhbi and the soul crushing 440am flight I had back to the states I figured it was worth rolling the dice.||I’m glad I did.||If you’re a female traveler seeking a super nice, clean, pleasant, private place to stay for the night - this hostel is immaculate. As someone who has never stayed in a hostel and typically stays in ~3-5 star resorts/hotels when traveling, this hostel blows many of the 3 stars out of the water. In fact it was nicer than some of the $100+ USD places I stayed in my tour of Thailand and Laos.||First off when you arrive it’s a bit hard to find the hostel entrance. The 7-Eleven is the best landmark but with a 7-Eleven in every corner its a bit confusing. I’ve added a picture of what the stairs to the entrance look like- it’s just to the left of the 7-eleven on the street corner.||Second, the service is top notch. The front desk woman (the only person I saw in my brief 8 hour stay) spoke fantastic English, showed me around their immaculate facilities, and even helped me catch a cab at 230am!||Third— this hostel is very new, very modern, and super clean. I slept soundly in my firm but comfortably and cozy bed. It may sound strange but even my little cubby) the deluxe bed I paid for (the higher end bed) smelled so fresh and clean! For reference was in a room of 4 beds, each with three walls and a curtain partitioning them. You have about 4 feet of clearance for your head and about 5-6 feet to stretch out in.||I loved that they provided towels, decent toiletries (shampoo/bath gel/lotion dispensers in the bathroom) and fresh pajamas! The bathrooms are clean, modern, and had rain showers and flip flops for you to use as well.||If I’m ever in the area traveling with girlfriends or solo I will definitely be back. What a great home...
Read morethe most friendliest staff and beautiful hostel i will ever stay in, i wish i could take this with me with my travels. everything is cleaned daily and perfect. it is not a very social hostel, but the people i met were friendly for small conversations here and there. check in is from 2pm so if you were to arrive early hours, you must book for the day before as well to fit in that check in time. this is far from the central, but a good opportunity to get over jet lag as it’s so close to the airport, and there are still some lovely places to visit, e.g. a park a few minutes walk away, baan kao soi restaurant which had beautiful food and ambience. travelling to the central i walked 15mins to hao takhe train station and purchased a ticket there for 17baht to go into central. i did find it a little confusing and got off at the wrong stop, but follow along with the app Moovit to feel a bit more relaxed as it can give live updates. alternatively the Grab app is great and much like uber in the uk. thank you to the wonderful staff for being so welcoming and warm, the free towels and pyjamas was a nice touch & i felt...

I also loved their eco-conscious approach - no wasteful energy use here! Aircon is only on when guests are present, which aligns perfectly with sustainable travel. A rare find in Bangkok.
Tip for future guests: Plan for extra transit time, and enjoy a stay that’s as kind to the planet as it is to travellers.
Mariya Hostel was clean and well-located, but as a light sleeper, I struggled with noise from fellow backpackers arriving late at night. The sound of zippers and shuffling bags in the room made it hard to rest—something to note if you’re an early sleeper.
That said, the staff were friendly, and I loved the hostel’s eco-friendly vibe. Maybe earplugs or a designated ‘quiet hours’ policy could help future guests. Still, a solid choice...
