Kuad Khon Thoe Pai Cottage — Hotel in Mae Hong Son Province

My partner and I stayed in Pai for about 6 weeks total and decided to divide our time between loads of different accommodation types.

This place was absolutely lovely, and I really couldn't fault anything. We went for the cheapest room option (Superior Cottage) and it exceeded expectations. Large room with separate space for luggage, large comfortable bed, decent bathroom, great AC and a nice little porch to sit on.

I feel like the photos don't really do this place justice, as the grounds and common areas are actually really well kept. The pool is large and has an incredible view to boot.

It was really handy being able to order food and smoothies here, since it's about a 15 minute drive from town. Food is basic thai but still tasty and convenient. They don't serve cocktails or spirits (but they have 60bht beer), and the staff were super chill when we brought our own drinks to the dining area to enjoy.

Overall, I'd say its one of the better places we stayed during our time in Pai. If you are staying for a longer trip, its nice to have a few days out of the main town area - but if you're only in Pai a few days, you'd want to be closer to...

Fantastic views, great pool, staff were lovely and price was right. However, the owner is beyond rude and extremely arrogant. He could not have treated me worse. Simply asked why I couldn’t eat at table by pool with my friends as there were two empty plates left there from previous guests and no one else was around but my friends. Was told to go sit alone on other side of pool in dining area and that plates left were ‘only fruits’, so allowed. I asked if he could talk to me nicely as my questions were legit…and that was that. After that he wouldn’t even look at me when I asked for mosquito repellent, looking to a staff member and telling them to ‘deal with whatever the guest wants’, to my face. Just beyond unnecessarily rude. And all the rules and ‘don’t’ signs telling us not to do this and not to do that…well it was a shame as the rest of the place was lovely, as were the staff who appeared embarrassed by his behaviour. Absolutely up his own arse for reasons beyond my comprehension. As mentioned, if it weren’t for him, a great place! But he needs to learn some manners and just be a bit of a decent...

What an increadible stay 🥰 we loved every minute of it. The whole hotel feels better, nicer and cozier than you see on their images online. We are photographers, we can imagine how great it could look. The room was spacious (we had a simple room). Spotless. We also had a small but nice private terrace. The pool - wonderful! We loved the design and gardening of the whole territory. The food was very tasty, they had quite a few vegetarian options. And a nice area to sit and enjoy the scenery. The hotel is a bit further away from Pai center, but easily reachable with scooter. Also they can arrange a very reasonably priced car back and forth into town. There was no noise, it was super quiet, and we enjoyed that a lot. And lastly - the staff were amazing. With sincere huge smiles all the time 🥰 thank you for such hospitality. The value is increadible. It was probably the nicest guesthouse/hotel that we stayed in Thailand from a total of 5...
