This CentrePoint hotel is the complete obverse of the CentrePoint hotel we stayed at in Pattaya. The room was the size of a standard hotel room, the service was excellent, and the staff were extremely friendly. The hotels proximity to the Terminal 21 shopping mall was handy, but there are no restaurants close by (other than the offerings in the Terminal 21 food court). Grab (the Thai version of Uber Eats) came to the rescue once again and we had some lovely food from the restaurants in the city. The breakfast was average and somewhat below expectations for what purports to be a 4* equivalent hotel. I always judge a hotel breakfast by the bread offerings and the croissants. If the croissant are freshly baked and there is a selection of freshly baked bread, the hotel is doing well. If, as in this case, the croissant were heated from frozen and the selection of bread was poor, none of it being cooked on the premises, the hotel has failed the breakfast test. I also look for vegetarian options and for culture-specific items at breakfast. All the options here were Asian, and while it is to be expected that the hotel would cater more widely to its user base, there is no real excuse for not providing a few menu items suited to Western tastes. The vegetarian/vegan options here were poor, so those who don’t eat meat should think carefully before booking this hotel.||||My only real concern about this hotel is the shower. The configuration of the bathroom is so weird it’s hard to describe, so I’ve included a picture below. In essence, it’s a shower over the bath, with no screen or curtain to contain the splash back and no easy way to get in and out of the shower/bathtub. Switching the shower on is a feat in itself leading to a thorough soaking unless you remember to run the water into the bathtub before switching it to the shower. Once you’ve got the shower going, however, that’s where the fun really starts. The shower head came up not to my shoulders (M/178cm) and the temperature of the shower fluctuated so much that you were playing Russian roulette with the water. Getting out of the shower presents a clear and present danger to older guests, or those who are physically disabled. There are no rails to assist you in getting out of the shower, meaning that you have to climb over the side of the bathtub risking slipping on the side of the bath. I really don’t understand why the hotel installed this bizarre configuration. I did ask to move rooms to one with a proper shower cubicle, but there were none available. The management of the hotel needs to address this clear heath and safety risk before someone gets seriously hurt.||||Overall then, this probably rates a 3.5, but I’ll score them a 4 because it’s really a nice enough...
Read moreOur five star stay at Centre Point Hotel Korat Terminal 21 was absolutely perfect. We knew that the standard would be high when we drove to the T21 Shopping Complex parking and were guided to the hotel's designated parking spot and were greeted by the hotel's friendly attendant. Next step was the friendly Covid-19 health check and professional check-in at the bright and stylishly minimalistic bright lobby. Our room was spacious ( even with three single beds ) and bright. Air was filtered and temperature perfect, the AC silent. Roomservice was great too. Breakfast was included, service perfect and the selection healthy and plentiful. As European I missed my unhealthy treats, bacon and cheese, but I got over it in about one second. Location in the biggest and newest shopping center T21 was super convenient. All in all 10+ points in every possible category. Thank you! We booked the hotel through Agoda and it worked seamlessly. Sadly Agoda (powered by Rentalcars.com) rental car booking for a Toyota Camry at BKK airport worked so badly I will have to report them to the police and bank for fraud and theft after Christmas. Agoda took the booking, withdrew the full sum and Rentalcars.com canceled the booking because Avis didn't have a car to rent out. They withdrew the money and will not return it because they say it was only "reserved " yet the money was taken from my account (and not returned) , also according to the bank. 8 emails later and 4 phone calls ... they don't budge. For this reason I would recommend not using Agoda and never ever their car booking partner Rentalcars.com. But, the hotel and hotel booking worked seamlessly....
Read moreStayed here for a week for the first time and was looking forward to it. The hotel is nice and clean, staff polite, friendly and helpful. A shout to the front desks who also served with a big smile as well as the staff who always came to collect my laundry with a spring in his step and was always friendly as always.|The room is big and clean and the bidet kept the toilet seat heated. The shower was strong and hot when needed and the aircon easy to control with a comfortable bed for a food night sleep. Everything seemed to be good except that the breakfast area was kinda small with many tables tucked inside but it was still unable to cater to the weekend crowd. There was no table assignment for the guests and everyone was hunting for a table themselves and some seated at those which were occupied but went to get their food. The small area and screeching chairs made the experience poor. As some reviews mentioned, most of the items were unchanged day in day out. There’s always noodle dishes; fried noodle, spaghetti and soup noodles. Luckily there was a section making local tea and coffee which were more tasty than those from the machines but during weekends, long queues formed in the already small area making it rather unpleasant.|The shopping mall next door was a major disappointment; I had been to Terminal 21 in Bangkok and this one was really boring. The only fast food restaurant I know was KFC, apart from the donut shops. There were no McDonald’s, BK etc.|Overall the hotel was not bad as the staff really impressed me in their services but I will likely stay elsewhere next time due to the lack of food options at the...
