Toscana Valley Khao Yai – A Copycat Catastrophe That Ruins Khao Yai’s Soul
Toscana Valley is a textbook example of how not to replicate European charm. If you came expecting a serene slice of Tuscany in Thailand, prepare to be thoroughly disappointed. This place is nothing more than a superficial, uninspired imitation of Italian architecture—clearly conceptualized by someone who has never actually experienced the real Tuscany.
The buildings look like movie props rather than authentic Mediterranean design. There’s no sense of proportion, harmony, or craftsmanship—just a mishmash of fake facades and color palettes that feel more like a themed shopping mall than a cultural tribute. It’s all style with no soul.
And here’s the dead giveaway: you won’t see any Europeans here. That’s not by coincidence. Anyone remotely familiar with true Italian aesthetics would find this place laughable. If they were serious about replicating Tuscany, the least they could’ve done was hire an actual Italian architect or design consultant. Instead, we get this soulless, awkward mock-up masquerading as sophistication.
Even the basics fail miserably. The coffee? Bitter and watered down. The gelato? Synthetic, overly sweet, and lacking any real texture. For a place that claims to draw inspiration from Italy, it can’t even get the most essential Italian experiences right.
But the worst part? Toscana Valley doesn’t just fail on its own—it drags the whole area down with it. Khao Yai used to be a tranquil, nature-rich escape full of greenery, fresh air, and quiet charm. Developments like this destroy that essence. Instead of enhancing the surroundings, Toscana Valley imposes a fake narrative that clashes with the natural beauty it’s built on.
In short: this isn’t Tuscany. It’s a poorly executed marketing gimmick built on hollow aesthetics and zero cultural understanding. If you’re looking for authenticity, serenity, or even good coffee—look elsewhere. This place is a complete joke, and sadly, it’s one that comes at the cost of Khao Yai’s...
Read moreToscana Valley is a beautiful destination, and there's no doubt that visiting it will leave you with a memorable experience. However, there are a few important points to keep in mind.
Firstly, it's quite far from Bangkok and not exactly close to Khao Yai National Park either—located approximately 18 kilometers away from the park. Reaching Toscana Valley can be challenging unless you're on a private tour or part of an organized tourist group. I personally hired a private taxi from Bangkok to Khao Yai, and after visiting the park, continued on to Toscana. Based on this experience, I can confidently say that there’s no easy or direct way to reach Toscana, especially since the Khao Yai area isn’t like other tourist-heavy spots with tuk-tuks or frequent public transport. It’s a peaceful, less commercialized region, best navigated if you have your own mode of transportation.
Secondly, there is a 1,000 THB entry fee—but it's important to note that this is only for accessing the resort itself. If you're just planning to explore the lake, restaurants, and the Leaning Tower replica, there's no need to purchase a ticket. I’d recommend skipping the ticket unless you're staying at the resort.
Toscana Valley is essentially a high-end resort area, with several restaurants and buildings styled in European architecture. Most of the popular photos online are taken near the water body adjacent to the tower, and this spot is as picturesque in person as it appears online. While the area itself is relatively small and can be explored in about five minutes, the scenic beauty and peaceful ambiance will likely keep you captivated for much longer.
It’s an ideal location for romantic outings or a peaceful escape. Overall, it was a lovely and worthwhile experience.

Read moreWe visited Toscana Valley for a day trip during our stay in Khao Yai (approximately a 20-minute taxi ride away) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The area is stunning—designed to replicate a Tuscan village, it’s incredibly picturesque, charming, and full of photo opportunities. It’s the kind of place that feels made for Instagram, with quaint buildings, cobblestone paths, and sweeping views.
We had a lovely lunch followed by gelato, both of which were high quality and served in beautifully styled surroundings. However, it’s worth noting that general access to the main property is restricted—you cannot enter without a accommodation reservation, something that was not clearly signposted or mentioned online. Thankfully, we were still able to enjoy the public areas and the ambiance of the complex.
Despite this unexpected limitation, we had a wonderful time and would recommend visiting if you’re in the Khao Yai area—just make a booking ahead of time if you’d like full access. It’s a unique, European-style escape tucked into the Thai countryside, perfect for a relaxing afternoon and...
