The facilities and the surrounding area was lovely and exceeded expectations. Breakfast good and was included in price and the service during breakfast was excellent. Food and drinks off the menu were expensive for the size of the portions and the taste of the cocktails. However this didn't spoil our trip.
The next day before we went to checkout I discover my girl friends car has been crashed into (she is Thai so no communication problems with the hotel). We alert the hotel and we suggest they show us their work truck as we saw it parked across the way from our room. We can see the paint and scratches match up between the two vehicles. It really doesn't take an expert to see where the dents and scratches have come from with white paint on our car and silver on theirs, where the vehicles have transferred colours.
Mistakes happen we are very understandable people. However the treatment and service we received by the hotel and in particular the GM is totally unacceptable and for this level of hotel I suggest they send her away for guest relations training. I think she forgot we were customers. We were made to feel like we had created a problem and it was our fault. No compassion what so ever. And we had to spend the day until 6pm for the situation to be resolved. Not until the end did we receive an apology which was in no way sincere.
For the GM to treat us like we were liars and not use her common sense and her eyes to see the clear evidence, then perhaps her position is too much above her level for her competence. The hotel got the police to come as there was no progress being made. A complete waste of my day and the other 3 people with me. The hotel and GM have no regard for our holiday/spare time. Even when our insurance company turned up and confirmed the obvious that their van had hit our car, still the hotel felt no remorse or willing to accept any responsibility. Despite them looking at camera footage and seeing only one vehicle, theirs go past the camera to where our car was parked. Again the common sense was mind boggling.
The day was wasted until their driver finally admitted he had crashed into us. And we got a pathetic apology and compensation that won't cover the cost of rental of a car whilst ours is in the shop and no consideration to the day they made us waste for their mistake. Completely unacceptable.
So my suggestion go to the resort it is lovely. Don't drive as they have no regard or responsibility to lookout for their customers. And if you have an issue don't bother going to the GM she will waste your time and resolve nothing.
I invite hot springs to reply to this post and try and justify there unprofessional and...
Read moreWe arrived at the HotSpring Beach Resort at the end of June '23, just a week after a new General Manager had started his new role - something we found out because he was actively meeting and greeting guests and will obviously be a great asset to the resort. He is overseeing a huge number of renovations and upgrades due for completion by the end of 2023 - and so any older reviews that speak of the resort needing some attention will now likely be redundant as the place is undergoing a major - and impressive - facelift.
We were thrilled by our spacious room, the fantastic hot spring pools and the excellent contrast of the icy 'chill' pool (a rarity in Thailand, where refreshingly cold water to dip in is not so common). The staff were friendly and courteous throughout, and the grounds all the way to the beach are quite wonderful.
Of course, in any transformation there is always something that still needs tweaking. Our two recommendations to the resort would be to enhance the taste and the number of vegetarian options of breakfast, which was generally a little on the bland side (though we ate two a la carte dinners at the resort restaurant which were outsanding and quite delicious).
The other recommendation is to keep the beach free of the relentless flow of plastic and other garbage which the sea washes up. Although this is so common everywhere, and certainly not the fault of the resort, the beach gets a daily deposit of bottles and other plastics, and it would be great to see some efforts being made to collect and tidy the beach area as it's not huge, and this would certainly be an hour well-spent.
Overall, highly recommended for a stay here - it's a unique place with such relaxing waters and the sense you're in the middle of a tropical forest with secret thermal springs just waiting to be discovered. If you're there in low season of June/Jule like us, then you won't see too many other people around and you can enjoy a lot of peace and quiet. Definitely...
Read moreI recently stayed here with friends for a wedding in the area. The room we stayed in was very spacious with big windows over-looking the beautiful gardens. The room was a traditional style with a beautiful big bathroom with shower and bath, lots of storage, a large TV, very large single beds. I love the grounds of this property with the little bridges and all the greenery and the water. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.
The breakfast is so delicious and varied. I was really happy with this and had good experience in the restaurants too. However, the two restaurants serve the same menu and close quite early in the evening (last order is 9:30pm) so dining options are a little limited here.
The pool area is lovely but with day passes available, there are often bus-loads of outsiders sharing the space (and limited sunbeds) with you. We found the best time to be by the pool was around 1pm when the morning visitors have gone and before the afternoon ones arrived. The pool did get quite crowded during morning and afternoon rush.
The Hotsprings are 40C and were very hard to get too deep into, but are built up like pools so they're very clean and easily accessible. There's also a cold plunge pool indoors and outdoor massages. The massage was fine, but more than I paid closer to central Phuket (in the Kata beach area).
The beach is basically private. The afternoon we went there, there wasn't anyone else around (which also means no life guard). The walk there on the wooden dock is a little precarious because the dock is old and missing some slats.
The main thing to keep in mind here is that you're far from most things, so even getting a taxi out there is hard (our Bolt app wasn't available). I used a driver called Fud (WhatsApp +66 87 477 9285) who was lovely. A little pricey compared to transport in the more populated areas but there isn't much...
