Baan Issara advertises itself as a 4-star. it could be, but it isn't.||the free WiFi is free but unusable. First of all, it's WEP, so you would not want to entrust your mailserver credentials or anything else to such barely secure network, 2nd, its a 1Mbit line-in the mornings you may be able to surf the net some, but in the evenings where more people are logged on it becomes unusable. Dropped my secure VPN link every 5 minutes.||There is an issue with the piping causing a constant and VERY unpleasant smell throughout the apartments. Sometimes more sometimes less, the amount of no less than four Glade air refreshers bespeak the fact that the hotel is well aware of this issue.||Asian hotels are usually nicely furnished. Why this one comes with marble countertops in the bath and kitchenette but otherwise the cheapest of the cheap IKEA (I kid you not, it IS IKEA) furniture escapes me. Cleanliness is substandard-behind the fold-out sofa in the livingroom and the behind the bed and toilet there was plenty of dirt, cleaning is superficial at best.||There is a huge catalogue with inventory and the prices one has to pay up when it's damaged. Unusual and most of the inventory isn't present, as there's just one catalogue for the apartments and larger private residences.||Pool is OK and staff helpful. Breakfast at the Ma Long restaurant on the premises is good and the proprietor will cater to your wishes.||The rooms have cable and DVD, however, cable box, TV and DVD require 3 power outlets but only two are present-means you have to reconnect something permanently.||The furniture barely fits together and 3 hangers are hardly appropriate for a place which specializes in longstay guests.||With some minor adjustments, the piping issue causing the fecal smell foremost this could be a nice place. The way it is it's average at best, 3-star minus. ||The Resort is WAY out in the boonies, about 3 km down Soi 102 off Phetchkasem Rd- so you will need transport, either a car or rent a moto. However prices are reasonable but, had we known about the smell issue, we would not...
Read moreI stayed here on two occasions in March 2024 and booked the pet friendly suite with a bedroom and living room. This place is a cozy little resort with villas and suites.
This place gets 5 stars from me for being value for money pet friendly, spacious and mostlyclean even if a little run down.
Additional pets stayed for an additional small fee per stay. ( Can't remember honestly how much it was but it wasn't exorbitant)
The furniture were a little used and I would recommend that the rooms on the first floor have their doors replaced as it looks like their time was up.
The wall behind the bed also had many handprints which were clearly not there by design!
During my second stay, the tiles were a little chipped and the floor was a little sticky but the rooms during both stays were big and there was more than sufficient space for my cats to run around.
Rooms on the second floor were better maintained and the cats were not so distracted by birds outside.
There is sufficient parking space unlike at some at hotels and resorts in Hua Hin and Cha Am where the parking lot is across the street or at another location.(Eg, Ibis or Sheraton)
This property is not near the beach but it quiet without sounds of loud frogs or bugs and most residents seem to be early sleepers so there is no loud music at night!
It is a short drive from the BluPort mall so it is quite convenient for...
Read moreThis hotel was a horrible experience from the start. They wouldn't offer me a deal on a room and said look online for best offers. After I booked online, they offered me a better deal AFTER the fact. Then they said they wouldn't give the offer if I canceled..????? ||||I booked and paid for a bike for 5 days and had to leave the hotel early because of travel restrictions. They said I couldn't get a refund fo the bike even though I didn't use it for 3 days....Once I asked for the owner's name and #, they said to come back later. When I returned, they said they can 'try' and get a refund before check out. But couldn't find the owners #. I did get the refund of the bike after lots of pleading. ||||For fun, I asked if I could get a refund for the room for 3 nights not used and they said NO. I wasn't surprised. ||||Nice hotel, away from the city and beach area...TERRIBLE service. ||||Also, breakfast has 2 options (typical western break and an Asian dish) that must be pre-ordered the night before. 500 BAHT/2. ||||Much better places...
