We have stayed here many times since we discovered Mestyle Place in 2012 and have had many great and mixed experiences but a few things remain the same. ||As others have stated, Mestyle Place is off the beaten path and not easy to get to if you are not sure of the location. This, in our view, is a good thing. If you want to be on Khao San Road, Sukhumvit or Silom in the mix of all the chaos that is quintessential Bangkok then I would stay there. Where Mestyle Place is located is far from the tourist trail and much more local life within Bangkok. ||The people here are really friendly with the exception of the restaurant staff. The restaurant staff do not have proper customer service etiquette and like others have stated can, on occasion, be rude. The food here is pricey yet great which is a shame that the staff needs training. This is the only thing I would like to see changed about Mestyle Place. The front desk staff are always helpful and smiling as are the housekeeping staff, who don't speak much English but are delightful. The security guards out front can and will get you transportation to the MRT either via taxi or mototaxi. Usually it's 40-50 baht for taxi or 25 baht per mototaxi||As far as the hotel goes the the design details are unique and remarkable, the rooms have similar amenities to each other but each is laid out slightly different. The beds are harder than western standards and are great for the back. The washrooms are basic but they have a wide range of toiletries on the counter. Most rooms have a patio which may or may not have a chair and table, usually not. The a/c units are cold, the showers are hot and tv's have a fair selection of channels depending on you language. ||The pool is adequate but my wife doesn't like the lack of sun for most of the day, otherwise it is great for a swim. The gym has air con and a good selection of equipment.||The surrounding location of the hotel has many services including local restaurants, massage, 711's, laundry, coffee, etc. The restaurant directly across the street has the best food!||We plan to stay here again and definitely look...
Read morePLEASE NOTE THIS IS A MUSLIM HOTEL Loved the quirkiness of the entrance, disliked the the security trying to take my bag off me for the tip.. it was just a hand held bag! I was at 2nd floor, no aircon at all along that floor, and the door end where they have a green bin was open at all times, the mosquitoes were everywhere! The room was very large but sparsely furnished, the TV did not work, kept turning off and when on was barely watchable because of snow screen, (tec guy said it was because it was old!!!!). Two tea bags were the in room for hot beverage, I was told they do not supply coffee! nor sugar or milk for that matter... 12 cubes of ice are charged @ 14 TB. No English is spoken by any of the staff, so ham up on your acting skills! The pool and fitness is in another building.. no drinks are allowed, even around the pool area! Not exactly conducive to a hot country (today 35.5C-96F) or a holiday stay! Breakfast is ordered, not buffet style and the waiting staff are bored and sullen, I asked for just fruit and toast and was told to make my own toast and was given a plate of warm fruit. I have booked and paid for 6 nights however I have checking out today after one night. The place is run down and badly managed, a shocking waste of money, just be careful if you book to stay at the museum, Agoda booked me at MeStyle Place as opposed to MeStyle hotel which was my choice of hotels... no wonder they took payment immediately! Lost my money but checked into the Museum...
