Advertised on numerous sites as a 4-star hotel, this establishment falls short of expectations and is more comparable to a 2-star experience, especially regarding the rooms. We stayed for 4 nights as part of a symposium hosted there. The hotel frequently accommodates large symposia, bringing in many attendees who do not stay overnight. In our case, over 100 participants attended. The location is 4 km from the city center, but the hotel provides a free pick-up and drop-off service. Positives: Beautiful surroundings with lush trees and serene water lily ponds. A large swimming pool and spacious rooms with big bathrooms. But can not recommend this hotel. Negatives: Superior Room, Block 3: The room appeared neglected, with paint stains and excessive grout everywhere. They stopped caring a long time ago. Mattresses were uncomfortable, and one bed squeaked loudly with any movement. The hot water kettle leaked, and the TV channel box didn’t work. Hot water was inconsistent; if your neighbor showered, you had to wait your turn. No in-room iron or ironing board—limited availability from reception, and the board provided was broken. Bathroom fixtures were covered with lime and water stains, poorly installed bath tub tap, see pictures. The electrical system didn’t automatically switch off with the key card, so we had to manually turn of lights and AC. You are not allowed to flush toilet paper. The room and overall resort looked worn-out and in need of renovation and care. Breakfast was primarily Thai buffet, with limited Western options. Poor-quality bread, no premium fruits like mango or papaya (despite being in season). We believe that the coffee was tar, it was the worst ever. They have a sign: we serve Starbucks coffee, no they SELL Starbucks at the café for high prices, they serve you tar at breakfast. Not a 4* hotel breakfast! We had breakfast, dinner and lunch, not good. Despite promoting itself as a sustainable hotel, the resort exhibited practices contrary to that claim, such as wasting water, needing 4+ minutes running the water for it to get hot, and the electrical system didn’t automatically switch off with the key card. Staff was friendly but most of them spoke hardly any English. Disappointing stay, mainly due to the uncomfortable beds, shabby look and feel and...
Read moreThe property encapsulates the beauty and culture of Thailand wonderfully. They create a beautiful ambiance where lotuses greet you at the entrance, native Thai trees around the rooms and pool provide luscious green shade, and local handmade sculptures made from recycled metal and architectural pieces tell a story. I love how they have their own rice farm, banana farm, and garden which provides fresh food to the restaurant. Since there aren’t many restaurants nearby, we ate at the hotel. The restaurant menu had many options, and the meals were good, but they weren’t amazing. But I don’t think it took away from the experience and the staff’s service was superb. They also collaborate with the local vendors to create local markets during events at the hotel, supporting local community while providing unique shops to the visitors! The resort experience was unreal. The staff was knowledgeable and gave us a nice tour of the property. There’s even more I can say, but it would be better to visit if you can, to experience it for yourself :) A special thanks to Daniel for...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for over a week, so I think I have a good feel for the place. I would definitely come back. That said, there are some issues. (+) Beautiful location and grounds. Lovely pool set amongst trees and shrubs. Good coffee shop and restaurant. Predominantly helpful staff. Good room amenities- water, juice, snacks. (-) Minor maintenance issues not being dealt with - pool tiles cracked, shower hose split, silicone in bathroom appalling- done by a 6 year old? NOISE - I was woken early 5 out of seven days - thai wedding, thai funeral (facility next door), guests checking out (620am), guests smoking outside and shouting into phone (maybe some signs telling smokers to respect other guests?), poor quality toilet paper, allowing guests to have breakfast wearing bed clothes (PJ's) weird, gym equipment dated and not good for purpose.
Despite these annoyances - I'd...
