Matou Hostel and Café — Hotel in Trang Province

We booked a double-bed room with a private bathroom. The room is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom is also spacious with a water heater. There is a hair dryer and a cloth rack provided but no refrigerator and closet. There is no elevator and the rooms start on 3rd floor (our room is on 4th 😅). The 2nd floor is a common space. There is no car parking area but you can park in front of the hostel. There is a staff taking care of the hostel all night. I am not sure if staffs can speak English or not. There is a 7-11 shop and a recommended local Chinese restaurant nearby, only 250-m away. Kantang town is quite small but if you love to explore a not-crowded old town with sino-protuguese architecture, Kantang is a nice town...

The town itself is filled with friendly locals and has plenty of hidden treasures to explore. With a bicycle or scooter—or even by taking taxis—you can easily discover the area's beauty and charm.

The hostel was neat, clean and beautiful. Service was also exceptional. They don’t do food but offer drinks and small bites. There are 3 types of rooms (I think) which are room with ensuite bathroom, room with shared bathroom and a dormitory (bunk bed) with shared bathroom (even the shared bathroom was super clean). The location is also great. You can walk to local shopping mall (tiny though), local shops and restaurants, street food/food trucks and walking street (every Sunday).
