The hotel is rather old and a lot of stuff is broken or non-functioning. Rooms were always clean and tidy, common areas not so much. Food was a highlight, moderate selection and variety throughout our stay, no issues there. Drinks were varying a lot - we ordered three cocktails all around from the menu and never got them tasting the same - bartenders don’t measure ingredients, often forget to put some in or put something different. The animation programme was lively, but sometimes too much - especially while playing loud disco music during dinner, which couldn’t be escaped - this happened almost every other day. The beach and pool is okay. Subbed reservations are officially prohibited, but the beach/pool staff did nothing to enforce it. When the pool opens, every sunbed is occupied yet there are just five people in the entire pool area. Hotel staff were mostly polite, but not very proactive - ie. during lunch and dinner, first drink order was taken immediately, but after that, nobody came to ask if we want another one for the most of the time. Next, we asked during the first day of our stay for a strongbox to be installed in our room and the lights repaired (only 2/5 were working). We reminded this twice, yet nothing was done. Overall we had a nice stay besides some minor inconveniences, but next time, we will probably choose a different hotel.

I will not compare this hotel with hotels of the same class located in Europe. There are different standards here and Golf Beach, in my opinion, maintains the level of 4 *

Minus: -undercooked livers and fish, served too quickly, grilled meat either raw or hard and dry alcohols in the lobby served as in a 5 * hotel, but by the pool in tiny plastic cups, about 100 ml. -several bartenders by the pool do not pay attention to their work Few people know English at a communicative level the tiles around the pool are very slippery -weak snack bar bad organization of meals, the worst when they set up 2 long tables in the garden to which a queue of about 60 people formed, it was possible to make several tables the all inclusive offer is 3 ready drinks and combinations that you come up with, e.g. gin and tonic or cedratina and sprite -small choice of food, monotonous, daily omelette, eggs, cereals, fruit, pancake, croissants for breakfast, lunch: vegetables, meat, potatoes, groats, fruit, fish, dinner the same, wine poured from bottles but you have to ask for it and beer from the dispenser there is no grass around the garden

Plus: -extremely friendly animators, lifeguards, a dance group that shows the magic of dance and performances in the evening, they are wonderful, for them you would like to go back there, very helpful and smiling, the bartenders in the lobby are very polite, they like to make contact and talk rooms cleaned every day, towels changed working air conditioning and fridge -You can get as many water bottles as you need -I have never experienced such kindness in any European hotel the hotel is very clean, when something stops working, the service appears immediately -beautiful, clean swimming pool, beach and sea

The hotel has recently reopened and it seems that maybe next year it will be a bit better. It's fine now, but there are a few things that stand out. I remind you that this is an independent description, if you are looking for 4 or 5 * European, Tunisia...

Animation programm high quality - very active, lot's of activities: sports and social activities, happenings, pool activities, dance sessions.|Food: Large array/choice of different foods. Tasty and interesting. Always different. Allergy and kids friendly foods.|3 different bars all over the hotel. All types of drinks and soft drinks available without limits. |One night tunisian style dinner.|Sometimes we had a problem to find sun loungers at the beach. Not enough for all the guests at once. |The waiters at the dinner/eating area acted at times unfriendly, ignorant and not pro-active. Sometimes unmotivated to set the table for newly coming dinning guests. Once they laughed behind our backs when we politely asked them to set our table for us.|Accomodation: The bungalows where we were accomodated were less modern and up-to-date than the hotel rooms. The soap dispensers were horrible to use. They were further than the hotel rooms, therefor definitely not suitable for elderly and dissabled. |Beach: In the morning and noon hours the water was calm and clear, low tide, knee hight at most. 10-15m from the shore it started to get flooded with seaweed. Therefor not really suitable for any glamourous swimming. Afternoons, high tides and dirty see from all the sand. |Outdoor showers + |outdoor bar + |Personel overall friendly.|Pool was great|The towel etiquette at the beach and pool was unethical. People were leaving their towels there to get a lounger sonner than others. The personel, even tho they talked about removing them, never actually did, creating uneven...
