Hello, my name is GLORIYA GENOVA, and i stayed for 1 full week in Selectum City Atasehir. When i arrived on the 12th of January (Sunday) , i was VERY WARM welcomed by the Receptionist - JUSA (lovely, smiley, confident in his job), i was placed in a room 1805, until here - everything was good. I shared with JUSA i have an operation on the next day, which means ONE NIGHT i am not going to be there. On the next day 13th of January (Monday) i went early for operation, and when i came back on the 14th (Tuesday) and i enter in the room, it was FREEZING COLD, i turn the heating on for 3 hours on 30 degrees, and nothing had happened, i call the reception, and they send an engineer, who did not speak ANY english and with google translate was telling me that the room is fine (MY HANDS WERE FREEZING, and when you CLICK the option room temperature - it was 21) and he is telling me it is all fine, i had to raise my voice to him, when he suddenly told me (again with google translate) that the room had problem! - NO SHIT!!! Thanks for telling me!!!! However i was moved immedietly in a WAY SMALLER room, with NO WATER for one day - 1815 !!!! On the next morning i went for breakfast where i met the host (A MAN) who saw me, i am from operation, than i asked if i can make a plate (one croasan & one pancake) and eat in the room, because after my rynoplasy i was not feeling good, he than told me YES, with a smile on his face (he understood me), that was the moment i met the SUNSHINE of your restaurant with the name Denize!!! A lovely, cheerful waitress, with manner - proffesional! She was happy to see me, because she remembered me from the first day. She was happy to help me out! From that moment i started ordering room service, because i was not feeling comfy eating in the restaurant with my bloody nose!!! SEMIH, METIN and FAHIR were the people taking care of my room service orders and ALL of them were PERFECT !!!!! On the 15th i went down for breakfast, and i was welcomed by a VERY RUDE host, without any NAME TAG!!!! She was telling me that it is not possible for me to bring my plate up (and basiclly do the same, which one day ago was allowed to me by the charming male host) I asked her few times, she was not helpful AT ALL, than Denize came and appologize instead of her ... THE NAME OF THE UNPLEASENT AND RUDE HOST IS SETCHIK (or something like that, because as i said she was not wearing a nametag) - short, brunette ;) i am sure you know her!!! However i grabbed a pankace and ate it with my bloody nose in the restaurant - she had NO UNDERSTANDING, maybe because i am a woman !!!! AWFUL ATTITUDE, when i asked for her name, she did not wanted to give it in the begining - do not worry babe i will still write a comment!!!!!!! And at the end i had a check out at 5am on the 19th (Sunday) The reception lobby was EMPTY, the check out took 20 minutes!!!! ERTUGLUR was super SLOW, the check of the minibar took him 15 minutes!!! He saw that my transfer was there, and he was taaaking his time!!!!!! Move that guy from reception, he is not for there! Overall i give you that much starts because of Denize and the guy on the Reception JUSA (who by the way asked me immedietly when he saw me, how was the operation- he remembered - that is a proffesionalism)
Next time i WILL STAY AGAIN there, and again i will write a...

I recently stayed at the Selektom Hotel in Atasehir, Istanbul, for a medical trip, and while my initial experience had its challenges, I must share how the hotel turned things around and ultimately provided a heartwarming and memorable stay.
In my previous review, I shared valid concerns about the facility and its services. While those points were accurate, I am pleased to say that the hotel’s management and staff worked hard to address these issues and truly elevated my experience. After my medical procedure, I returned to the hotel and encountered a small issue with my room. However, the customer relations manager, Yeșim, went out of her way to ensure I was properly accommodated. Her efforts included transferring me to a larger, more comfortable room where I could recover with ease. This grand gesture showed their commitment to guest satisfaction.
The room service team also deserves a special mention. While I initially had reservations about the menu, the kindness and attentiveness of the two gentlemen handling room service at night made all the difference. They ensured I had enough ice for my needs, shared cheerful comments to lift my spirits, and provided thoughtful care throughout my stay. Their efforts were particularly meaningful as I was recovering alone, far from home.
The gym, which I had criticized earlier, became a completely different experience after they adjusted the temperature to a refreshing 18 degrees. This simple but thoughtful change made a significant difference in my perception of the facility.
The location of the hotel is another standout feature. Being close to metro stations and offering easy access to the city made commuting a breeze, further enhancing my overall stay.
In conclusion, while my initial impressions were less than favorable, the exceptional service, particularly from Yesim and the room service team, transformed what could have been a disappointing stay into a genuinely pleasant one. Their dedication to ensuring my comfort and satisfaction left a lasting impression. I now look forward to returning to Istanbul and staying at the Seletom Hotel again. My gratitude extends to the entire team—from the doorman to the front desk staff, to room service—for their care and professionalism.
This was truly a story of a rocky start leading to a beautiful ending. Thank you to everyone at the Selektom Hotel for making this experience...
Read moreI have zero idea how this hotel has 5 starts.
And yes, if you expect the 5* hotel amenedies like a bathrobe, house shoes, toothbrush, ear cleaning/ make-up cleaning kit, here you won't have it. In the first room even a minibar wasn't filled.
WiFi was awful in the room 105, but in room 1405 was great.
The worst thing was the smell of cigarettes that was coming through the ventilation of the bathroom. For a non-smoking person it was a disaster.
breakfast. The selection was very poor for the 5 starts hotel. Like to cereal or oatmeal? Seriously? In the Istanbul 5* hotel, where a lot of people arrive from different countries. Overall food was not of a good quality. For example, serving chicken nuggets that were pre-made and frozen before? I've been traveling a lot and visited Turkey many times, and that was the first time I didn't enjoy the food in Turkey. Very disappointed.
service. Honestly, again, I was very disappointed. firstly, the speed. Simple request to bring water - 40 mins. Another request to change the hairdryer was 30 mins. Very "convenient" in the morning getting ready, to realize that the hairdryer is older than you and doesn't work. Request it nicely and be late because you simply cannot dry your hair. Please note, it was hard to reach the front desk. I had to call reception like 3-4 times before they pick up the phone.
one of the great cases was with kattle. On the second room kettle didn't work. I asked to come to change it. Well, they did, no problems. But when the house keeping women was leaving, she (for some reason) decided to take 2 packs of chips. I stayed next to her, she didn't hide it, not at all. She just removed it from the counter. I was after surgery and didn't think about it till theoment of a checkout. My taxi was for 05.45, as it was crucial to cross the Basphorus before 06.00 as we could stuck on traffic (so the road would take 1.5h-2h, instead of 45 mins). And guess what? I had a charge for those chips. Ridiculous. I explained the situation and they waved the charge but... It took 15 mins. I was lucky to get to the airport on time.
What was good: location. A shopping center was just 2 mins away (it had a supermarket, pharmacy, food court, etc.). Cleaning...
