Ayvalik was our best choice for recuperation from hectic Istanbul before we moved to our next big stop: Kusadasi. But what made our one-night-stay in Ayvalik a sweet memory was Evren, the host in Kelebek Pansiyon. Evren’s friendly manners and willingness to help and interact with his guests cannot leave you untouched. Please follow his advice for dinner in this fresh fish restaurant, which you wouldn’t have discovered on your own. Evren helped us to book our next bus trip to Kusadasi and talked us through the beauties of Ayvalik.||||Kelebek Pansiyon is not easy to find, if you are a first-time visitor in Ayvalik but nothing to worry about; stop at a central spot on the main road (we stopped inside the Pharmacy, owned by a very friendly and excellent English speaker), and Evren will come and pick you up. Our philosophy is that the harder it is to find a place, the more amazed you will be by it. Kelebek Pansiyon is in the heart of the old town, surrounded by stone-made Greek houses, which are an architecture miracle. Don’t hesitate to get lost in the old town; you will always find a kind local to guide you back, if needed.||||Kelebek Pansiyon has personality and style; every decoration has been added with love. Our room had books and a brand new Home magazine in English. The bathroom is new and the right size. The freshly prepared breakfast is taking place on the terrace, which offers somehow restricted sea view but a wonderful perspective of the old town and the traditional lifestyle in Ayvalik.||||We wish we had more time to get to know...
Read moreOur stay took 2,5 weeks and we are absolutely happy. |First of all, the room was small but very clean. As well as the external bathroom and everything else. We had a small but cute view on the sea from our room.||The owners Filiz and Evren are the best hosts I've ever had. They are calm, helpful and so friendly. Always ready to give you some information about the city and other stuff. We had a very lovely and cozy stay. And something very important: The breakfast at the pension is amazing. Filiz makes beautiful breakfast always with an addition like omelette or börek. ||Also, the neighborhood is so nice. The people in common in Ayvalik are very helpful. The town is small but always full of surprises. I recommend this pension and the town to all old architecture lovers, to people that would like to know a place that is full of interesting places, nice people and absolutely amazing food. Nothing for people that like "5*-all inclusive- side-antalya-turkey-absolutely touristic" stuff. This town is historical, original, sympathetic, authentic and friendly. ||Greetings from...
Read moreCobblestone streets sound so picturesque and they are, just not when towing your wheeled luggage. Ayvalik is a lovely town with some great pubs, restaurants and cafes. There is also a very popular huge Tuesday Market and Cunda Island has a smaller market every day.||||The Kelebek is a small family run bed and breakfast which provides a welcoming spot in Ayvalik. Very reasonable prices include a comfortable but small room. We stayed in the sea view room with a shared bathroom on the second floor. It has a modest sea view.||||On the third floor is the breakfast terrace Evren ‘s mum whips up a delicious breakfast including hot pancakes which is included in the room price. Evren is a great host who happily provides any information needed. I liked the Kelebek very much for it’s friendliness...
