Hotel Erol — Hotel in Ayvalık

My fiancee and I stayed at this lovely hotel during August of 2017 and we had a very contented time. We found the general atmosphere to be relaxing and the staff incredibly friendly. Ergun and his colleague (sorry forgot his name!) were the most welcoming and accommodating people. Nothing was too much and they were very knowledgable on the local area. The hotel itself is clean and the lovely garden that leads to the sea is very pretty. The beach is narrow but the water is clear and quite shallow, so it's great for bathing when things get a little too hot. The real joy is the cabanas by the beach. They have large cushions and once you're set up in there you won't want to leave. Order food and drink and have it delivered to you there and you will love the experience. One evening we had a meal there with a bottle of wine and watched the sun set - it was a joy. ||||The only criticism I have, which is hardly a criticism at all, is that the lovely breakfast is a little predictable. Maybe the hotel could just vary it a little considering most people will be eating there for a week or so.||||Cunda town (pronounced Shunda as I recall) is really something special with some gorgeous restaurants and bars. They vary but you can have a lovely three course meal with wine for two for about £40. The quickest and cheapest way in is by bus. Simply walk up to the little hill to the road. Wait on the far side, there is one every 15 mins and costs about 60p! You don't even have to pay until you get there. It takes all of five minutes. A bit too long to walk in the heat and direct sun. One thing that we loved - but some people might not - is that this is really away from the touristy areas - a two hour transfer from Izmir airport - and consequently most older people are not fluent in English. Having said that the locals are very friendly and will do anything to help.||||All in all Hotel Erol and Cunda island itself iis a fantastic place and if you like peace and quiet...

This small boutique hotel on the Island of Cunda (alibey adasi) is just wonderful. Owned and operated by 2 young men the hotel is just a perfect getaway, quiet and peacefull on a very crowded island. The hotel is located right on the ocean with a narrow beach and also has a few cabanas that are just wonderful, completed with big fluffy cushions and electrical outlets, You may also order any food or drinks delivered to the cabanas, and you never want to leave.. The hotel if I am not mistaken is 13 rooms, we were very lucky with an ocean view room and a great balcony overlooking the pool. I believe all rooms are decorated differnetly and I would deffinetly recommend an ocean view room. The hotel includes breakfast, which was just fine for us, a typical Turkish breakfast and the owners even cook eggs up to your order. The hotel is located just a 5 minute drive into the middle of Cunda Island which is most famouus for the many, many fish restaurants, bars and souviener shopping.||A little piece of heaven on Cunda Island, do not expect any luxury but the very friendly and knowledgeable owners, the very peacefull location and the cute rooms are all a perfect combination!||Highly...

4 senedir Ayvalık'ta kaldığım tek oteldi. Fakat bu sene başıma gelen bir olay sebebiyle maalesef bir daha gitmeyeceğim. Buradan olayı ve hissettiklerimi anlatayım, kararı siz verin. 16-21 Eylül 2025 Ayvalık Film Festivali sebebiyle 1 ay önce Burak Bey’i arayarak salıdan cumartesi gününe kadar yer ayırttım. Film programı açıklandıktan sonra cumartesi günü de kalmak istedim ve yine Burak Bey’i arayarak 4 günlük tatili 5 güne çıkararak cumartesi gecesi de uygunsa kalmak istediğimi belirttim. Kendisi hiç sorun olmadığını yeri bana ayırdığını söyleyince internet üzerinden Pazar günkü film biletlerini de aldım. Cumartesi gününe kadar sorunsuz bir şekilde otelde kaldım. Her zamanki gibi kahvaltı ve oda gayet güzeldi. Cumartesi günü kahvaltı sonrası 12.00 film seansı için otelden saat 11.00’e doğru ayrıldım. Tam filmin başladığı saatlerde 12.20’de Burak Bey aradı. Cevap veremediğim için whatsapp tan cevap verdim. Bana çıkış saatimin geldiğini, odamı gelen diğer misafirlere vereceğini yazınca, 1 gün sonra Pazar günü benim çıkışımın geçekleşeceğini kendisine bu konuda biletleri almadan önce bilgi verdiğimi ve kendisinin bu durumu onayladığını söyledim. Kayıtlarda böyle bir bilginin bulunmadığını, bir iletişim hatası olduğunu, eşyalarımı toplayabileceğini ve başka bir otel ayarlayabileceğini yazdı. Film başladığı için kimseyi rahatsız etmemek adına başta ok işareti gönderim. Fakat tam 3 dakika sonra çok tedirgin olduğumu ve eşyalarıma dokunulmamasını, saat 14.00’e kadar otele gelip eşyalarımı toplayacağımı yazdım. Otele geldiğimde maalesef eşyalarımın toplanmış olduğunu gördüm. Burak Bey sorun olmadığını, bir otel ayarladığını beni götürüp getirebileceğini söylese de eşyalarımın, valizimin bir başkası tarafından toplanması ve otelin yaptığı kayıt hatasının tamamen bana yüklenmesi beni çok üzdü. Burak Bey’e hiç yakıştıramadım, kendisine de kibar bir şekilde eşyalarıma hangi hakla dokunabildiğini, bu durumun beni çok rahatsız ettiğini söyledim. Kendisi, temizlikçinin de odada temizlik yaparken eşyalara dokunduğunu, rahatsızlığıma anlam veremediğini söyledi. Ben de eşya konusunun benim için hassas olduğunu böyle bir çözüm yerine yeni gelen misafire başka bir otel ayarlayabileceğini, beni yerleşmiş olduğum odadan zorla çıkardığını ve çok üzüldüğümü, bu davranış biçimini kendisine hiç yakıştırmadığımı ifade ettim ve kendim merkezde başka bir otel bulup, yerleştim. Tabi o günüm ve filmler benim için çöp oldu. Biraz uzun yazdım ama otele gitmeyi düşünen misafirler eğer Burak Bey üzerinden irtibat kuruyorlarsa mutlaka giriş çıkış tarihleriyle ilgili bir mesaj talebinde bulunsunlar. Ben bana reva görülen bu yaklaşım sebebiyle bir daha gitmeyeceğim ama otelin konumu, odası ve kahvaltısı konusunda hiçbir sorun yok.
