Macide Hanım Konağı — Hotel in Ayvalık

While we were looking for a nice place to stay in Ayvalik, basically we wanted to escape from the crowds at the city’s main beach. For this reason we have chosen Macide Hanım Konağı as judging just from the photos the place seemed to be a friendly accommodation for ourselves as well as for our budget. Frankly speaking the hospitality of the family that runs this small hotel exceeded all our expectations. They all were very helpful, warm and friendly. Even though we do not really speak Turkish and not all family members are fluent in English, with assistance of an online translator we got a lot of information about the area. Everything about this place far exceeded my expectations. The room is in a traditional old house, but is beautifully furnished with every modern amenity (including a lovely en suite, and an extremely comfortable bed). Despite having little English, the team was wonderfully welcoming and were completely flexible about my dates when my connecting ferry got cancelled. ||||The breakfast is simply incredible - far too much to eat, and featuring olives from their own farm, and their own homemade melon and orange jams. The location is right at the start of the old city, so I walked 2 minutes to the lovely Tipota restaurant and easily to all other sights and places to eat. 3 arkadaş 4 gece boyunca konakladık. Konakladığımız oda küçük ancak bizim beklentilerimize göre yeterliydi. Odamız tertemizdi, hijyen konusunda herhangi bir sıkıntı yaşamadık. Klima sorunsuz çalışıyordu. Serpme kahvaltı lezzetli (özellikle reçeller) ve doyurucuydu. İlk kez karpuz kabuğu reçeli denemiş olduk. Biz başta ne reçeli olduğunu anlayamamıştık buradan kopya vermiş olalım :). Kahvaltının başarılı olduğunu yorumlardan okumuştuk ancak kendi deneyimimiz beklentimizin de üzerindeydi. Kahvaltının servis edildiği bahçe de çok tatlıydı. Araçla geldiyseniz aracınızı ana cadde üzerine park etmeniz gerekiyor. Cadde gün içerisinde epey kalabalık ancak akşamları otele döndüğümüzde park yeri bulmakta pek zorlanmadık. Yorumlarda genel olarak sesten sikayetçi olunmuş ancak biz böyle bir sorun yaşamadık (odamız en üst kattaydı, klima açık olduğu için de cam kapalıydı). Yine yorumlarda eleştirilen bir diğer nokta yatakların rahatsız olmasıydı ancak böyle bir sorun da yaşamadık. Yataklar konforluydu herhangi bir uyku problemine sebep olmadı. Sadece odadaki duş tuvaletin hemen yanında ve kabinsizdi (ne yazık ki tuvalet ve duş kısmının açık fotoğrafı paylaşılmamış). Büyük bir probleme sebep olmadı ancak kabin olmadığı için banyo duş sonrası biraz ıslak kalıyordu. Otelin merkezde olması sebebiyle çevrede gezilecek konumlara, kafe ve restoranlara yürüme mesafesinde olması büyük bir artıydı.
